I just gotta say, this place is awesome! I live on the east coast and wasn't about to stay up until 12:30 to watch this game, so I stayed off the internet until I finished it this morning. Went to the open thread immediately after finishing the game and laughed my ass off reading all the comments. You all are the best!
Anyway, enjoyable game in a vacuum. Coby was crazy and I loved hearing the UC chant his name. I also love whenever they mic him up. He's just such a positive dude and is always encouraging his teammates. As much as I hate AK, I love that Coby's here for a couple more years on such a great deal.
DeMar set the tempo early in the game with bucket after bucket as well as four or five assists in the first quarter. After that, he sort of stepped back and let Coby and Ayo carry the team home. That's something Zach could never do because he just doesn't have the basketball IQ to realize when other people have it going.
Speaking of Ayo, kid hasn't played in weeks and comes in and plays 40 minutes. Efficient scoring, great defense. What more could you ask for?
Solid minutes from Terry. He wasn't good but also didn't do anything particularly terrible either and was a +21. Jevon Carter was a -11 in less than two minutes of action, so that's fun. Drummond was fairly effective in his limited action after being out so long, but he also nearly killed Caruso so I'm going to put him in the negative column with Jevon.
Overall, super fun game to watch. I love seeing Trae be terrible. AK could not be more turned on right now thinking about his post-season presser in a few days about how this team destroyed the Hawks and then lost a close one to last year's conference champs!
Man… being a bulls fan sure does suck.
