NBA thinking about new anti-tanking rules. One of them being locking lottery positions as of March 1. That would take away AK's biggest asset in his strategy. No more Bulls run in March/April!
That sounds like it could help.I never liked the idea of shutting players down for the season. If you are a star for a lower level team, I can't imagine you would want to sit out so your team has a better chance to lose.
If anyone's worry was that AK would make a panic trade, rest assured this 5 in 6 "once we got Isaac back" will paralyze him from doing anything disruptive
You're probably right about that. There's no need for us to be desperate, better to stay on track, wait until the offseason and use our $70 million cap space.
If Wolves offer Beringer for White or Warriors want Vucevic for Kuminga, you'd hope AK would go off script and take those deals. But anybody who wants us to dump expiring contracts for draft picks is going to be disappointed I think.
Don't worry, once AK realizes there aren't actually that many good players available next summer, he'll use most of that $70 million to bring back Coby and Ayo and he'll spend the rest on a backup-level center.
Beringer has played the fewest minutes out of any 1st rounder except for Noa. If we want to add a young big, there's several guys I'd look at before him. A couple of whom we could just yank from the GLeague.
I am irrationally intrigued by Leonard Miller, one of their two-ways. He absolutely torches the G-League at 6-10. A perpetual project but I would love to see him get a chance.
I remember that Miller looked good in the summer league, he looked really smooth for a big man, but he can't get minutes with the Wolves either. He just turned 22 so he's still got time to prove himself.
I heard the CHGO guys say the other day that the Bulls have a chance to be the first team in history to win between 39 and 41 wins four years in a row.
I don't think it will happen, but if the Bulls can go 3-1 over the next four games, they can do something they haven't done since 2021... have a winning record going into the new year.
Shouldn’t AK have to address the fact that some of his draft picks who were supposed to be legitimate rotational players at this point (Williams, Terry, and Phillips) are all so bad that simply replacing them with mostly average journeyman players is helping the team win again?
Nope not at all. Those were just two random middle fingers for sure. Nothing to do with the Bulls. He was probably upset about something totally unrelated.
This game no longer counts then, I will have to consider just the 6 games where literally everyone was healthy, a total normal sample for an NBA front office to assess their team in
Apparently Coby re-injured the calf that kept him out the beginning of the season in tonight's game against the Wolves. I didn't watch the game so I'm not sure how serious it seemed at the time, but I'm curious to find out more over the coming days. Apparently Giddey got injured too.
already annoyed that we won't hear anything about these injuries until pregame when Billy Donovan gets to soak up 80% of media availability going 'I don't know what or when, maybe a week maybe not I'm just a ballcoach'
One thing the Bulls should get credit for is recognizing the need to trade Zach LaVine before the Hawks and Trae.
Damning AK with faint praise.

I haven't been following the G-League, other than watching the WC Bulls a couple times while Noa was playing. Who's out there you think could help us?

That’s AK’s legacy.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Yes. He should apologize to all of us and promise to make better choices.
For the first time since 2021, the Bulls are at or above .500 in December. O_o
And just like that, they are now under .500 😂
I knew I only had a brief window to get that comment in there. lol
Well we all know we'll finish 15-5 again, so just think about it like we're 9 games over right now.
That's some AK logic right there!
That was a great game last night. Did anyone know Smith could dunk like that? I sure didn't. Awesome!
So you think that Giannis' windmill dunk with one second left was a big FU to the Bulls for not wanting to sign him?
Maybe he thinks about the Bulls that way. I'm not certain he thinks about the Bulls at all.

Zach Collins out Monday versus the TWolves

Yep, Coby re-injured his calf and Giddey pulled a hamstring. I gotta think they'll both be out a while. And Bulls were awful without them last night.
When Giddey went out early in the 3rd quarter we were down two, 55-53. From there we got outscored 81-48. We just gave up.
I get that our offense is going to be limited without those two, but our defense just fell apart.
we have a defense ? 😁

yet now we know we can brace for inactivity at the trade deadline. With injuries,it's impossible to assess this group.
ah sorry, AKME has no business with talent, I forgot, my bad 🤦
well i was wrong they had to put out an injury report
but they just listed both as OUT with 'tightness'. KC is already saying that's good news. Not that they could be holding back information.
