You’ve likely seen the dunks circulating through the Twittersphere.
Se on muuten @MarkkanenLauri palannut #Susijengi'n vahvuuteen! Lisää luvassa perjantaina MM-karsintaottelussa CZE-FIN. Samana päivänä ensi-iltansa saa myös dokumentti Lauri Markkanen - osa 2. @YLETV2 29.6. klo 18 #chicagobulls #koripallo pic.twitter.com/xA1kxgGCyn

Ahead of FIBA World Cup qualifying later this week, Team Finland played an “international friendly” game against Estonia, winning convincingly 95-76. Markkanen dominated. The Finnish superstar finished with 23 points on 9-for-13 shooting in 26 minutes of playing time. He also grabbed 12 rebounds. I’m sure his newly-ripped biceps helped out with that.
Finland now has two games in the first round of qualifying to try to punch their ticket for the second (and final) round of qualifying for the FIBA World Cup. They will play the Czech Republic on Friday and then battle Iceland on Monday.
Unfortunately, Markkanen’s Finnish team commitment will exclude him from taking part in the Bulls bid to win their second Summer League championship in three years. [he’s not ‘in our building’, no! -yfbb]
But at least we will still see plays like this from Markkanen this summer thanks to the internet.
