When the Bulls pulled the lottery-night miracle in 2008 that would eventually land them Derrick Rose, Executive Vice President of Business Operations Steve Schanwald was the team’s representative at the draft lottery.

Schanwald retired in 2015, but in the interest of deja vu maybe the Bulls should have asked him to represent them again this year too? After all, they need all the good vibes they can get.

Instead, President and Chief Operating Officer Michael Reinsdorf will carry out that duty per a report from Chicago Tribune writer K.C. Johnson, who adds that the Bulls pool of options is ‘limited’ in part because the head basketball decision-maker has an ‘aversion’ to such things. [that last bit is my note if you couldn’t tell -yfbb]

The draft lottery, which will take place at the Palmer House Hilton in The Loop, goes down on May 15. The Bulls currently slot in at No. 6 with an 18.3 percent chance of jumping up into the top three picks (5.3 percent chance of getting the No. 1 pick).
