Both Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson had their first games back in Chicago since being dealt last year. Butler was with the Bulls for 6 seasons, and Gibson with 8, cracking the franchise top-10 list in minutes played.

The ESPN telecast remarked that the pre-game ovation for Butler, Gibson, and Thibs (who had his first return game last season) was the loudest ovation they ever heard from an opponent. KC Johnson was there and agreed.
