The 2017 NBA Summer League is set to tip off on Friday, and this evening the Chicago Bulls finally released their roster of players they will be sending out to Las Vegas to defend their summer league title, per Cody Westerlund of 670 The Score:
Though 2016 First Team All-NBA Summer Leaguer Bobby Portis and last year’s championship game MVP Jerian Grant are noticably absent from this roster, last summer’s crunch-time hero Denzel Valentine makes his return alongside a new influx of frontline talent for the Bulls. Paul Zipser will make his summer league debut after not playing a year ago, and two of the main trade pieces from last month’s Jimmy Butler deal—Kris Dunn and Lauri Markkanen—will also make the trip. Cameron Payne is also going (yippie).
Some other notable names on this roster include former Baylor 3-PT marksman Brady Heslip, Ryan Arcidiacono of Villanova’s 2016 NCAA National Championship team, and former top 10 high school recruit and 2013 McDonalds All-American Chris Walker. The Bulls also have a few international prospects going to Vegas including Dejan Todorovic of Bosnia-Herzegovina and former UCONN wildcat Amida Brimah of Ghana.
Vijay will have a more in-depth look at the Bulls’ summer league roster soon and the Bulls will play their first game on Saturday at 3:30 CT on NBA TV, but for now, what do you think of the Bulls’ selections?
