It’s almost that time to watch Bulls basketball again...well sort of. If you are still craving for more basketball fear not because the NBA Summer League is back in less than a month. This is a great time for many teams to evaluate their young talent along with finding potential bench players.
After winning it all last season thanks to a Denzel Valentine buzzer beater, the Chicago “Summer Bulls” are ready to defend their title in 2017. This year is a special one for the NBA as 24 teams will be in the Las Vegas Summer League, a new record as told by the press release. Below is a list of all the game times along with TV info for the Bulls games in the Summer League, starting with the opener against Dallas.
July 8th - Bulls vs. Mavericks - NBA TV (3:30 PM CT)
July 10th - Bulls vs. Hawks - ESPNU (3:00 PM CT)
July 11th - Bulls vs. Wizards - NBA TV (5:00 PM CT)
The rest of the schedule for Chicago will depend on how they fare in these three games as the tournament will head into the knockout phase.
As far as the list of players who are expected to be on this Summer League team, there will be a few familiar faces.
Expected to be on the Summer League team: Denzel Valentine, Paul Zipser, Cameron Payne and this year’s two draft picks https://t.co/XSSHvDXJEN— Sean Highkin (@highkin) June 15, 2017
This is likely Valentine and Zipser’s last year playing in the Summer League as both of them will have some NBA years under their belt. Cameron Payne will be a playing which may surprise some people but in all honestly it shouldn’t. Payne has struggled in his time with Chicago, playing in just 11 games and averaging 4.9 points per game. This will be his time to prove how valuable he can be to Chicago’s backcourt. Especially with the likes of MCW and Isaiah Canaan walking in free agency. He will certainly be a player to monitor in this years Summer League.
Let’s get ready to watch this title defense and hopefully watch some semi-good basketball in the process.
