For a lack of a better way to lead into this story: WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?

Chicago Bulls forwards Nikola Mirotic and Bobby Portis engaged in a physical altercation in practice Tuesday that resulted in Mirotic being hospitalized and sidelined indefinitely, league sources told Yahoo Sports

According to Shams Charania at Yahoo’s The Vertical, Mirotic and Portis first engaged in a shoving match that ended with Portis throwing a cheap shot at Mirotic’s face.

KC Johnson confirmed the altercation with a follow-up on Mirotic’s condition.

Johnson’s source said further that Mirotic would miss “a few weeks” with the injury.

Mirotic can’t start now obviously on Thursday, and assuming Portis receives a suspension that will presumably push Lauri Markkanen into the starting lineup at the power forward position.

Vincent Goodwill called the altercation ‘three years in the making’ and said Mirotic ‘apparently’ instigated. Bulls culture, indeed. Nothing like bad team chemistry to assist a team in losing games. Or not?
