John Gambadoro of ArizonaSports.com:
According to my NBA sources, the Clippers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Hawks all have interest in acquiring the lock-down physical defender who is in the last year of his contract at just $5.3 million.
If a team willing to rent Tucker would be willing to give up a first-round pick or solid young player, it is likely a deal could get done. But I’m not sure the Suns have much interest in a second-round pick at this time.
Tucker currently boasts a 9.9 PER, and his points, rebs, fg%, and assists are all down from last season. Though his primary expertise is said to be mainly toughness and rebounding.
To opine about this, Tucker is 31 and his best days are well behind him. I really have no clue why the Bulls would be interested in him, especially at the ridiculous price of a 1st rounder. Gambadoro later rightfully says that actually getting a 1st rounder for him is unlikely.
Hopefully this is just one of those pre-trade deadline rumors that quietly goes away.
