Video of Bobby Portis's big Summer debut

New, comments

This video has all your Bobby Portis.

Showing strength and touch in the mid-post, running the floor, finishing alley-oops, talking on defense, hitting three-pointers (!), assisting a Cameron Bairstow three-pointer (?!?).

Also contains an eclectic announcing crew of Kevin Colabro, Reggie 'ruins everything' Miller, John Malkovich, and Gar Forman.

Here was Portis after the game, reaching 3rd-person levels of confidence:

"I'm not intimidated by anyone," Portis said. "I'm just going out there and playing my game. I'm not worried about a matchup. I'm worried about trying to be the best player I can be for this franchise."

"Surprised?" Portis said, when asked about his debut. "Not at all. I'm a shot maker, not taker. I try to shoot a high percentage.

"People always say that I don't do anything great, but something I do great is run the floor. That's something that goes unwritten because it doesn't go down on paper."

"It was a great opportunity for me to show the world what Bobby Portis can do," said, you guessed it, Portis. "I was a guy that was passed up by a lot of teams. I got to basically show the whole world what I can do."
