All is quiet on the Carmelo Anthony front, but there's still expected to be a resolution soon. Right now, it appears as if Anthony is favoring the Knicks. New York has reportedly offered him a max contract of five years, $129 million. For his part, Anthony has also started gauging Pau Gasol's interest in playing in New York.

If Anthony does change teams, the Bulls would seem to be the choice. If he sticks in New York, the Bulls will continue working on contingency plans. Those include:

  • Pau Gasol, who the Bulls (+ Joakim Noah) met with in Los Angeles two days ago. Gasol is also being targeted by the Knicks, Thunder, Spurs and Heat.
  • Nikola Mirotic, who the Bulls are currently negotiating with. K.C. Johnson reports "Mirotic is hoping for assurances from the Bulls that he won't be traded before completing his roughly $3.4 million buyout from Real Madrid."

Elsewhere around the NBA:

  • Chris Bosh could be willing to leave Miami for a max contract if he isn't offered one by the Heat. He would have a lot of suitors.
  • Our old friend Luol Deng is also meeting with Miami today:
