Jimmy Butler sprained his thumb Sunday night and did not play against the Cavaliers on Monday.
Jimmy Butler will undergo an MRI on Tuesday in Chicago, but early indications are that his sprained left thumb won't need surgery.
The Bulls officially called [Butler] day to day.
It was strange to hear Thibodeau tell the media that surgery wasn't warranted before acknowledging the MRI hadn't occurred yet, but in all likelihood this is minor.
The Bulls only have one remaining preseason game, Friday, so the Bulls may be cautious with this one and give him extra time. Or not!
