Malcolm Thomas is set to sign a 2nd 10-day contract with the Bulls on Friday, according to Shams Charania of RealGM (the guy who got the initial Thomas scoop).

As pretty much expected, Thomas has been stuck on the end of the bench, despite Joakim Noah missing the last three games with plantar fasciitis. It's apparent that Thibs will only go to these end of bench 10-day guys in an emergency, although we did see Thomas for one defensive possession in the Heat game. And it was a stop!

Still, it's certainly nice to have an athletic body around for practice. And perhaps Thomas will stick around as a cheap fifth big man next season. Charania says there's a "strong" chance that Thomas will be with the Bulls the rest of the season and into the summer, so the big man will have chances to prove himself to the coaching staff.
