AYYYYYYY!!! Looks like Carlos Boozer's stellar play of late has gotten him recognized by the NBA:
RT @nbapr: CHI's Boozer and OKC's Durant Named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week.
— K.C Johnson (@KCJHoop) January 21, 2013
The Bulls went 3-1 last week, and Boozer notched double-doubles in all four games. He averaged 23.0 points and 14.8 boards while shooting 51.4 percent from the field. The big man also continued his recent trend of being aggressive and getting to the free throw line, averaging 6.0 attempts. He only shot 66.7 percent on those, but I'm going to cut him some slack.
Boozer's best performance of the week was a 36-point, 12 rebound effort in an overtime win against the Raptors. Those 36 points were his most ever in a Bulls uniform, and his 17 points in the first quarter were his most ever in a quarter as a Bull.
The question remains whether he can keep it up, but he's now going on three weeks of damn good play, so that's definitely encouraging. Let's see how he does tonight against Pau Gasol, whose named has surfaced in numerous Bulls trade rumors over the past couple of years.
