Orlando did what they do on their good nights: hit a lot of 3-pointers, led by Jason Richardson's 4-6. Noteable because he was a potential offseason SG target that has working arms and legs (until he sprained his ankle late on Thursday, oops). Dwight Howard created space for his shooters by dominating inside with 29 points and 18 rebounds. Seems like someone any team would want, but what do I know...
The Bulls were unable to secure the defensive glass all night, but rode a hot shooting streak from Carlos Boozer in the 2nd half on his way to 26 points (the part I saw! John Lucas had a hand in it! it was disorienting) to tie the game late. Unfortunately Derrick Rose was 1-5 in his final stint (6-22 overall), Kyle Korver missed approximately 47 open three-point attempts, and the Bulls couldn't get a commanding lead.
The Bulls rarely have schedule-losses, but it was a likely factor. The Bulls were playing their 4th game in 5 nights, whereas the Magic had the previous night off. Highlights below, injury report later:
