Remember Rasual Butler? Bulls signed him before the end of last season, inundating poor KC Johnson with emails suggesting Butler play more simply because we all hated Keith Bogans so much.
Butler signed with Toronto in the offseason, played terribly, and was released Friday. Woj at Yahoo has 'league sources' saying Butler could be heading back to the Bulls.
KC didn't confirm the report but maintained that the Bulls priority is a 5th big man. As it should be. This is the very-end of the roster, of course, but there will be some playoff game where the Bulls bigs are in foul trouble and Scal is forced into action and it'll be embarrassing.
Though you can figure the possibility that it's because the Bulls don't have many minutes to offer, the list of available big men is dwindling by the day: Ronny Turiaf (Heat), Ryan Hollins (Celtics), Kyrylo Fesenko (Pacers), and Boris Diaw (Spurs). Another sorta-big who's also a former Bull, Andres Nocioni, signed overseas. So it could be worse.
Tonight is the deadline for players to be waived while still eligible to play in the playoffs for another team.
