Bulls reportedly have interest in Jannero Pargo

I read this before going to bed last night and I'm pretty sure it gave me nightmares (via Real GM's Shams Charania):

After being waived by the Washington Wizards, Jannero Pargo has received interest from a number of teams, agent Mark Bartelstein told RealGM on Friday.

The Chicago Bulls are among the teams that have already reached out to Pargo, and the two parties plan to talk in the coming days, as his representatives will do with other interested teams.

"We'll talk, so we'll see," Bartelstein said by phone.

Pargo stunk it up in Washington this season before being cut to make room for Shaun Livingston. How bad was the former Bull? How does a 0.38 PER sound? While that was certainly in a relatively small sample size of around 100 minutes, that's obviously still abysmal.

The Bulls will have the opportunity to sign somebody in the next few days to a pro-rated veteran's minimum deal. With Kirk Hinrich made of glass, the Bulls could look to add a point guard like Pargo (point guard used very loosely in his case). However, the team could also use another three-point shooter on the wing or a big man.

It probably would be better for the Bulls not to sign anybody unless they absolutely have to, say if Hinrich falls apart again and misses prolonged time or if somebody else goes down. In any case, bringing back Pargo would be pretty awful and stink of the organization just giving him a shot because he's been on the team before. I guess he could provide some three-point shooting, but he's just so bad overall at this point it wouldn't be worth it.

Hopefully this is just a courtesy call, because there has to be somebody better.
