Hinrich Extension in the Works

The Sun-Times is reporting that negotiations are underway to keep Kirk Hinrich in Chicago for the next five or six years.

The five years or six years is actually a big deal: It seems Hinrich wants to wait until next offseason to get the longer deal.

How do you guys feel about it? Would you rather lock him up now for a five-year extension, or wait it out, have the chance to give him a six-year deal next summer, with the outside chance he could get enough love to test the free agent market?
