Kobe on the Bulls (via TNT)

  1. Bryant on Chicago Bulls forward Derrick Rose: “He is at the top of the list but he’s still young so he has a lot to improve on mainly his shooting. He can handle the ball. He can change his pace very well for a young player, finish at the rim. The biggest key for him is getting that long ball. He has got a pretty good mid-range game as it is. What I like about him is that he is not all speed.”
  2. Bryant on what type of player the Bulls need to help guard Derrick Rose: “They need a shooter. Because he is not a great shooter himself so you need someone to offset that. I like having basketball players that can create as well so he is not the only one that has to facilitate plays for others. That is what I would look for.”
  3. Bryant on Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson fitting in with the Chicago Bulls: “He is an underrated player. I love playing against Joe because he competes. I play against some of these two guards that just roll over. He is not going to do that. He plays both ends of the floor. He is one of those free agents coming into next summer that is flying below the radar but can really change the dynamics of the team.”

Doug Thonus waxes romantically over Ben Gordon like a schoolgirl with a crush

My question; would the Bulls have won last night if we still had Gordon?

Gordon: All Options Are Open

Ben Gordon doesn't worry what others think, especially those who questioned his decision to shun two long-term offers from the Bulls the last two summers. "It really doesn't make a difference to me. I'm going to try to do the things I need to do to accomplish what I'm trying to accomplish. Unless it's like my Mom or something, everything anybody else says doesn't have anything to do with the way I handle myself." Gordon will be an unrestricted free agent July 1. As for wanting to remain with the Bulls, Gordon is noncommital. "Honestly, I haven't really thought much about it," he said. "I'm going to wait until after the season. All my options are open. I haven't closed any doors." -- Chicago Sun-Times

Wishlist for Next Season

This season's not yet over, but I'm not exactly confident that the Bulls are going places in the playoffs (aside from a quick trip to Boston). I think I speak for most Bulls fans when I say we have...

Bulls Will Try To Keep Gordon

On whether John Salmons' arrival means the Bulls won't re-sign Ben Gordon this summer: GM John Paxson: "Some of this will be financial, that's the nature of the business right now. We'd love to keep Ben Gordon. We tried the last two years and we made offers that were substantial. But for whatever reason, it didn't work out and I don't assign blame to anybody. I still think we'll have a chance in the off-season to look at the big picture and try to get him back." -- Arlington Heights Daily Herald

It would be foolish to let Ben Gordon go

Ben Gordon is a prolific scorer.  With Pooh he has become even better.  It was a mistake (one of the many by Paxson) to sign Deng to a long term contract instead of Gordon.   There are not that...
