If Boylan was a turd

he would drawf the Sears Tower. Let's express our love for the man who said "I don't get rattled. When the heat is on I believe I'm actually at my best!"  As the heat goes up, the turd gets higher, this ball of fire.

He has driven Duhon into depression, Nocioni into a wet noodle, Gray into an frustrated anger machine, Noah into volcanic rages and Tyrus into someonone who would prefer hiding in his closet rather than face the incoherent rants of Boylan. Lately, HInrich was spotted in the locker room rolled up in the fetal position sucking on a doodle after and exchange with the great one.

What a motivator. If he were coaching the Celtics, they'd still be fighting for a playoff spot with KJ wondering why he's riding the bench in crunch time while the 4 guard lineup struggles not to blow another 30 point lead.

Most of us know the Bulls failure lies primarily at the foot of TT who has been in a funk for the last 5 games (bulls 2-3) reflected by his poor shooting and limited minutes.
Here is his breakdown:
Minutes played 70:55
FG 6-26  .229   FT  10-13 .779  Rebounds 16
Assists 4   Blocks 3   PF's 9   Turnovers 1

Prorating these dreary stats over 2 games of 35 minutes each...average of our other forwards becomes: points per game 11 assists 2 rebounds 8
PF's 4.5  blocks 1.5  Turnovers  0.5.

No wonder he rides the bench, Thomas is a human turnover machine. One in over 70 minutes..and don't think Boylan doesn't remember it vividly. Unfortunately it seems he is incable of remembering more than one play for any extended period....thus explaining his rotations.

As Jimbo admitted..."I'm not a stats man" here are some numbers over the last 5 games he may want to peruse, assuming he can read.

Player          Minutes         (+/-)
Hughes          153:58           -31
Deng            185:55           -28
Noah            120:15           -18
Gooden          172:14           -16
Gordon          148:41           -14
Nocioni          75:52             0
Nichols           4:22            +2
Gray             34:28            +6
Tabo            110:08           +11
Kirk            118:13           +21
THOMAS         70:55          +22

Notice a pattern you festering boil?  Look at the stats!  Even when Tyrus is floundering, he still blows away your favorites...players have to earn their minutes...your fat ass.  You are a complete enema bag that is constantly overflowing.

Now I feel better.  I am climbing off the edge again...no thanks to the prince of  dunces and his fellow retards.

According to K C Johnson
When he asked Boylan what specifically he would have done differently after the latest fiasco, the wise one replied....he would sleep on the game.

If only this boob would sleep during the game, the Bulls chances would improve greatly...assuming his assistants would grab some shuteye at the same time.

Actually
The larger quote was pretty good.  For once coach Dumbass actually acknowledged that maybe some of the blame rested with him:
Afterward, interim coach Jim Boylan looked inward.

"We didn't have our enthusiasm the way we needed it to be to compete against a team like San Antonio," he said. "As a coach, you look at yourself and say, 'Did I get my team ready to play?'

"I'd have to be honest and say I didn't have us ready to play. I'll shoulder that responsibility. Just as players need to be accountable, so does everybody else. We have to bounce back. These games are too important for us."

Asked specifically what he could have done differently, Boylan said he would sleep on the game.

Doesn't mean I like him, but it's nice to see him man up for once (perhaps the first and only time) and accept some of the responsibility for this mess instead of passing the buck.

Since he has
thrown some of his players under the bus before I was suprised to hear him say that last night.

Agree--
It's a little late to start showing your noble streak there, Jim "O Captain, My Captain" Boylan, born leader of men.

Even if we buy your sorry attempt to throw yourself on your sword, what happened the other umpteen games you blew?

"Duhon, don't make that garbage-time jumper... Save it for the next game!"

Re
Good job of at least presenting the facts. Unlike the emotional rants of the Boylan haters--even though I am one.

Not a Boylan fan by any means
But I thought the players were to blame in the Spurs game. How do you let yourself get abused like that? No coach would have won yesterday.

by RogersPark Kris on Mar 21, 2008 10:13 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yesterday's loss....
...is solely on Paxson's shoulders.

No team that with the talent of the Bulls and the coaching of the Bulls is going to beat a team with the talent of the Spurs and the coaching of the Spurs.

Maybe 1 game out of 10 - that's about it.

this is sad
wow nice breakdown
i dont boylan but honestly i find it hard to hate the poor guy, you can almost see the puppet strings above his head forcing him to tank, follow the strings back and i bet you find pax, the guy who is the biggest turd in chicago

by phineasgates on Mar 21, 2008 5:34 AM CDT   0 recs

i meant to say "dont like boylan"
sorry got typing faster than i could think of a nice way to put it lol

by phineasgates on Mar 21, 2008 5:36 AM CDT   0 recs

Its just
Sad what they are doing to these kids. Right now is the perfect time to be playing all these 1st/ 2nd yr guys and Boylan just isnt getting it done. If TT fails doesnt that make Paxson look like a yoyo head? You would think he'd be down there practicing with him and helping him and yelling at Boylan to play him 35+ min per game. Guess he's not to worried about it.

by Bulls4Ever on Mar 21, 2008 9:29 AM CDT   0 recs

It does surprise me
when I hear things like "why bother replacing him now" simultaneously with "he's doing damage".

Isn't the first rule when you're in a hole to stop digging?

by Sports2 on Mar 21, 2008 9:41 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Good grief
The level of Boylan hate on this blog has reached hysteria. I heard Boylan is also causing global warming and violence in the Middle East--I'm looking up the +/- on that right now...

by T Maple on Mar 21, 2008 11:14 AM CDT   0 recs

Well he is full of hot air,
so now that you mention global warming...
Maybe I'll take up hockey.

Now
that's funny!

by California Al on Mar 21, 2008 12:38 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

So do you want Boylan retained....
...or does your comment really have no point?

Either you're with him or you're against him.

Otherwise, we're just grading levels of disdain, dislike, and disappointment.

If I'd shelled out money for season tickets, and then witnessed the ballclub implode and the coach fired....and then had to sit through such ignorant and petty maneuvers by the 'interim head coach'....

....I'd be F%$*ing Pissed too.

Boylan hate
I don't hate the man, I hate his ignorant coaching decisions.  He is the epitomy of the Peter Principle.

He may love dogs and is nice to children but has shown over and over again that he is completely unqualified for this job.  I also have noticed  that many persons with overly inflated egos are the last to acknowledge or remotely recognize their own failings.  and yes I do believe he is partly responsible for global warming being the gas bag that he is.

T Maple
I understand hearing about Boylan is getting old but he's paid to Coach and it's pretty clear he couldnt coach his way out of a paper bag. Any BULLS fan can see that...

You cant possibly be happy with how he's doing as a coach?

by Bulls4Ever on Mar 21, 2008 11:35 AM CDT   0 recs

Not happy with him, but he's not the only one.
My biggest peeve with him is Thabo/Noah/Tyrus not being fully used in an otherwise wasted season. So I'm with you there.

But this team sucked at the start, when most people blamed Skiles. Then it sucked when everyone focused their anger on "the corpse." Now all people can do is rant about Boylan. But the Bulls as a team and as individuals have had a piss-poor season, and I'm amazed how little blame the rest of the team is getting compared to Boylan. I want to do a diary on this but I'd probably get flamed into oblivion. Maybe I'll wait to do it at season's end, or whenever Boylan is replaced.

by T Maple on Mar 22, 2008 8:03 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

You're kidding, right?
Are you skipping over the many posts absolutely killing Kirk and Lu and Ben?  They're taking plenty of heat for the season - but they each also each have a pretty loyal group of defenders.  That was the big difference with Boylan (and previously Ben Wallace); they were almost universally disliked.  But now Boylan has you to defend him, which I'm sure is a great comfort to him in this season of misery.
Maybe I'll take up hockey.

I heard Avery might get fired by the mavs
Do you guys think he would be good for the bulls and could he do better than Boylan?

by armstrong2389 on Mar 21, 2008 12:24 PM CDT   0 recs

re Avery
Could he do worse?

The only reason Tabo and Noah got pt was due to events beyond the control or recognition of this staff...injuries, trades.

Even Isiah Thomas would be a step up..after all he is an NBA hall of famer and I think the players would respond much better to him than the current ass clowns, whom they obviously don't respect and tune out to maintain their own sanity.

by Tyrusmancrush on Mar 21, 2008 12:47 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Oh God...another control freak???
I think this team has had its full of coaches who love to tinker with lineups for no reason.
Dickey Simpkins>Ben Wallace

It was nice to see Boylan take the blame....
...yesterday.

It would be even more refreshing if he admitted to being out-coached when the team blew several 18-point 4th-quarter leads.

by BullsFanInSeattle on Mar 21, 2008 12:33 PM CDT   0 recs

Boylan
is from another planet, somewhere in outer space....
