Open Game Thread #51: Bulls vs. New Orleans Hornets
Your chance to scout Rasual Butler. Or pine for Tyson Chandler. Man, I miss that guy. Not in the sense where I'm constantly wishing that they didn't trade him away (there's plenty of reasons it happened, some made sense, and hindsight being 20/20 and all that), but when he was actually playing well (before he took the summer off, signed the huge contract, and spent the next season hurt and/or ineffective) he was my favorite Bull. Jannero Pargo wasn't near my favorite, because he signified that time ('Pargo time') when Skiles gave up and hoped Pargo would shoot the team back into the game. Sometimes he did, though, I'll give him that.
Hinrich's likely back, Lu and Gordon are out. Duhon's also hurt but you'd have to think he'll play especially if Hinrich's out. So, it'll have to be a heck of a combination of effort and luck to get a win. New Orleans is very good and completely healthy. I didn't mention them once when talking about Western Conference contenders, but that's only because of ignorance. Also, they do have a shoddy bench and are especially thin up front.

I look for Chandler to smoke-screen Wallace
Enjoy the game, guys
list me as flu-like symptoms
:-)
Tyrus - Hornets Rd 2
Noah
Wallace misses yet ANOTHER easy dunk
...end then Ben gets out-hussled under the hoop
Too bad we could'nt
All I see is worthless wall-ass watching Paul
It might a long night if Wallace sees many minutes
Dull on Offense...
Nocioni only one really showing effort on O.
PLEASE GET WALL-ASS OUT
Frigggg....
running downcourt with the ball and instead of passing it to someone who can run, getting it taken from him...
ANY center who pulls that shit should be BENCHED.
I agree
Thabo just seems to get better and better..
He has definitely learned to use his size
Like most games early
Bowen
nice offense spark by Kirk, too bad he got the 2 fouls
Gray is slow enough with 2 shoes
yeah Thomas in
rambling, rambling....
Hinrich
Okay - here's a test for bayle face:
Or leave the kids in who, BTW, are playing pretty well?
Cool! Wall-ass stays on the bench!
first time i've seen this group

They seem to play
And they SCORE too! :-)
nods
I sure hope someone shakes Boylan
I like the results.
as long as they keep getting buckets and fouls
LOL!!
Whether he's involved or not
and it doesn't help when he misses point-blank shots.
Wallace

and the worse part is he doesn't seem to care
He knows he's the highest paid player on the team and htat's good enough for his lazy ass braggin' rights when he's hangin' wit his boyz...
Wallace
Look who is on the floor.
Love - hate with Kirk
But also turns the ball over and gets stupid fouls...
Same as it ever was....
Red needs to seriously
PLEASE take wall-ass out again
worthless.
wall-ass is SERIOUSLY hurting this team
Duhon
maybe its because I'm a gunner when I play but I hate the fact that Duhon passes up open shots

And Boyle-face leave wallace in....
and again - an 8 pt. lead
Boylan - I'm BEGGING you
put the kids back in!!!!
Red is cranky tonight...
Are we just not allowed to play the guys who got us a lead in the first place? That must be it since Wallace is on the floor.
This team blows
Man this is a depressing team. I can't wait to be rid of this hack of a coach.

a depressing team
It leaves the big question out there...
WHY????
And after all this shit play, and a time out, boyle-face STILL puts wallace back out there...
sigh...
Perimeter d = crap.
and again, wallace stands there and watches
he may not play D any more

WTF. KH never rarely gets calls.
Still in game.
Ours to lose/win in 4th.
I wanted to boo that fast break.
How many 3/2-1 breaks have we f'ed lately.
kids back in
See Boylan?
You CAN do it....really...
Just pull your head out of your ass
What is Red's major malfunction??????
oh no....
F.
Does anyone else notice that Thabo
are you saying he is quicker than the bigs?
I'm saying
one can only imagine what Chandler said
does it surprise anyone here
Every single game, I swear....
Bulls are gonna lose on that miracle desperation
This f'in team is enough to make me kill someone.
"That's not his shot" (????????)
Jesus H Christ Hinrich.
This season is so frustrating. More frustrating than 01.

once again
There are so many other coaches out there
I don't know how many motherf'in games
How many f'in times THIS SEASON have the Bulls been tied or within 2-4 with three minutes left, only to see the opponent go on a 10-2 run. It happens over and over.
Bulls cant f'in score down the stretch or get stops in close games. Game after game. Healthy or not.

Bulls can't win 2 in a row to save Boylan's ass
It's so friggin' obvious....
The Bulls had NO on the ropes several times tonight(as they have had MANY other teams this year), and then the starters come back in and kill the energy / gameflow and they let NO back in the game.
And that's just what opposing teams are waiting for with the way Boylan coaches.
Then they just step it up a notch in the 4th Q and walk away with it.
I can't decide who I despisee worse - Skiles or Boylan...
And then having to listen to the same old BS outta boylan's mouth in the post game....
JUST like Skiles sounded like....
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGHHHH!!!
I say Boylan

Felt bad for Kirk,
They needed two Thabos at the end, one for Peja and one for Paul. But Paul is too good, really. You have to get some offensive execution, and it seems tougher to do with Wallace in there.
I could've sworn Stacy
Speaking of the crew, I'm sick of Red's Ron Santo shit whenever Tyrus does anything. Wallace threw him a crappy pass that he had to lunge out of bounds and save, and Red thought it was Tyrus just randomly throwing a pass fifteen feet in the air behind his back.

I thought
The squad plays well without Deng, Hinrich, and Gordon so long as they are not asked to come from behind.

Where was Tryus in the 2nd?
by GoldenThreePeat on Feb 12, 2008 10:05 PM CST reply actions
I got to go to the game.
There was a period in there when Tyrus and Noah were on the floor and the team looked pretty fluid; it would have been nice to have put Gordon on the floor so they could have knocked down a few more open jumpers, but they still had a lot of life. There was another period where Gray/Duhon/Hinrich/Noah/Noc were on the floor, and there was considerably less fluidity.
Boylan seemed to be obsessing over match-ups and kept putting in the strangest guys at the strangest times.
During a couple timeouts, Noah sat away from the huddle looking pretty upset.
Overall, you just can't do anything about a guy like Paul, who really reminds me of Isaiah Thomas. He is such a good dribbler and he creates space on every shot. He switches hands with ease in midair and has eyes in the back of his head.

Hmmmmm....
I also heard Noah tied his shoes wrong and Wallace wants him suspended for 25 games.

My new fav player to grab 16 boards against us
And to me, that's even more amazing considering I should be freaking out that he's not averaging a double-double with the Bulls.
