'07-'08 Schedule out

Schedule just came out, here's the ESPN version. NBA.com's has the home/away teams flipped wrong, but you can at least see the national TV games.

The big news is that the annual circus trip avoids Texas: Phoenix, Clippers, Lakers, Denver, New York, Toronto.

(my Dad pointed out - yes we talked on the phone about the schedule right away, so Bill Simmons of me - how odd it is that they didn't split up the games in L.A. over two different trips.)

Anyway I'm sure you're making your game-by-game predictions even though there's months to go before training camp, so I'll do the same: 82-0 and #1 seed.

Start on the road against Kidd then open at home against the 76ers. Looking forward to seeing some exicting matchups at the UC this year. I notice many of them are on Thursdays on national tv.

I had it and now it is gone.

I think we open again NJ at NJ. The next game is a home game against Philly. The November trip included Phoenix, both LAs, NY and Toronto but I think there are other games I forgot.

Why does opening against New Jersey mean the Bulls are going to lose? I can't see the schedule yet, but I'm sure as heck not betting on New Jersey to win until I check with Donaghy.

National Televised Games

The Bulls Have 21 games on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, TNT. They also have 9 games on NBA TV, Thats a pretty good percentage to get.

not to mention the added games, and WGN

c's only hvae 19...that makes me pretty happy. But perhaps it was only 19 they could fit in without super overhauling the schedule

good news and bad news

4 teams we play thrice: NJN (1H, 2a), Tor (2H, 1A), Mia (1H, 2a), Wsh (2h, 1a)

last year it was: Philly (1h, 2a), Boston (2h, 1a), Cha (2H, 1A), Orl (1H, 2a)

Obviously we save 4 games against last years playoff teams, and avoid the nets and toronto (big plus), but I'm upset we're only seeing miami and wsh 3 times...we did well against those two

over the antenna.

tv time too. I'm rooting against UofI's shot at national broadcasts because Illini fans are freakin' annoying (Dee chants at the UC while the Bulls were losing to Utah, Chief support/tears). Jordan's status as an exec should help draw some NBA hopeful recruits regardless.

On first glance it looks like a reasonable

schedule. The November trip is 6 games with 5 of the six games we have a good chance to win. We have an chance to get off to a good start despite the November trip. The worst stretch seems to be the February 24 - 27th games. We play Houston, Dallas and indiana away. The six game winter road swing has all winnable games (MN, Sac, Sea, Por, GS and Utah). 92 days until opening night.

The circus trip is vey managable

Playing the L.A. teams instead of the Texas teams, there's really no excuse to go 0-6 or 1-5 on the trip this year. The Bulls can't get off to another terrible start if they want homecourt.

I was bored at work today so I imported the NBA schedule to a database and wrote a PHP script that generates a team schedule in HTML, then converted the Bulls schedule to a clean, crisp PDF - perfect for printing on a color printer and hanging on your fridge/cubicle.
