Bulls sign Noah and Gray

[From the Diaries. -Matt]

Some news that was expected . . . .

In the world of slow news, this is a little excitement.

"The Chicago Bulls announced today the signings of 2007 draft picks Joakim Noah and Aaron Gray. Per team policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed."

The Promise didn't get guaranteed money?
I guess you can catch Duhon celebrating at Reserve tonight.

Du is going to have to find a
new stomping ground.

Federal authorities seized and shuttered Reserve earlier this month.

I'm sure there's a super lame VIP balcony waiting for him somewhere. Is Blu still open?

I was going to ask this...
...but then forgot. Has anyone been to Underground on W. Illinois and Dearborn? http://www.theundergroundchicago.com/

My sister and I just celebrated our birthdays there this weekend. (not given by the club, obviously) It seemed like a really good time, but I actually didn't get too much chance to look around-(my sister is director of runway at elite modeling and about 10 of her models showed up).

I live in Omaha and never go to clubs here, I was going to ask before to see what to expect, and now I'm just curious for what someone else thought. or what the reputation is--the guys were actually assholes at the door.

Yes, of course.

I like it
I think, in 2 years, the idea that the Bulls got Thomas and Noah for essentially Curry and Wilson Chandler will make us laugh and laugh.

What's the deal with the other Curry?  Are they just inviting him to camp?

Happy or sad laugh?
Actually we got Tyrus and Noah for Curry and Gray and Wallace for Chandler.

Othello Harrington
and Mutombo, Frank Williams (who managed to get himself  out of the league by not staying in shape), and Cezary Trybanski.

Mutombo was traded for Adrian Griffin, Pike, and Mike Wilks.  Motumbo wanted to be back in Houston.

wilson chandler
was selected where the Bulls would have picked if they didn't have the option to swap picks with the Knicks.

God
noah 4 years 10 mil, grey 2 years minimum.  Every time i look at ben wallaces 60 million i feel like throwing up. well what are you going to do? we payed 60 million for a guy who is worth about 30(me being generous) and everyone was crying about noce. and we have to put up with wallaces crying about things.  i hope noah replaces him soon

Every time I look at the pictures of Noah
in a Bull uniform I can't help but think he makes Chandler look like he was the incredible hulk.

by boerwinkle on Jul 30, 2007 9:51 AM CDT reply actions

Chandler
looks bigger than he used to when I saw Tyson at the USA tryouts.  Maybe it was just the dark blue unis though.  As for Noah he is ripped.  not a ton of mass (and thats putting it lightly) but he puts in alot of time in the weight room and is real cut up.

KG to the Celts (maybe)
I love Pax, but just get the feeling he is too much in love with his current assets and could have got KG to the Bulls if he tried...

If this goes through, KG for Jefferson, Ratcliff and Green is a steal. can't help think that A Bulls package of Luol, Tyrus and 3-4 expiring contracts is just as good if not better.

Oh well, just venting...ignore this post (I know a lot of folks wouldn't even want to give up Deng in a 1-1 trade for KG)

by DarthSidius on Jul 30, 2007 3:30 PM CDT reply actions

ok, stop venting
because you're wrong.

The Bulls don't have 3-4 expiring contracts whether they included Deng or not.

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Jul 30, 2007 3:42 PM CDT up reply actions

missed the separate thread for this, but
don't we have Sweets, Du and Krappy all expiring?? Anyways, I'll move my vents to the proper thread

two polar opposites
I can just imagine jim rome screaming about something, interspersed with minutes of dead air time, then luol carefully mulling over whatever inane point rome made, explaining why he disagrees, and politely ending the conversation

I hate Jim Rome
