Quick site updates

  • Made a few updates to the Blogroll last week. Not as many additions this time, but some cleanup was made to clear out defunct blogs. Always a sad process, but hey, I got a reputation to maintain. I'm sure there's bad links, misspellings, and omissions already, so please email me if with corrections.

  • Carnival of the NBA widget is now in it's own place on the left sidebar. I haven't been pimping it a lot lately, but I recommend you keep track of the Carnival's whereabouts. Don't just read this blog, there's plenty of good stuff out there.

  • Also on the left sidebar is a link to my new favorite time-waster: Ballhype. From the creator (and friend of this site), Jason Gurney of lowpost.net, it's a place where the reading community can select and promote their favorite sports blogging content. Here is a better description of what Ballhype's about. What you see on the right is stories I've submitted to Ballhype...basically posts I've read and found interesting, but wouldn't otherwise blog about. I pretty much stick to the NBA portion of the site, but there's similar sections for other sports as well.

  • And as a heads up, there are some network-wide updates that will be made to the commenting interface.  Here's an example of what you should expect.  I'm not sure what exact day they'll be rolled out here, but I think it'll be soon. Either way, don't freak out when you see them. (Or do, I guess it doesn't matter.)

Bad True Hoop, bad.

Could be because
ESPN hates the Bulls since they're not the Pistons, Heat, Mavs, Spurs, Suns, or Lakers.

I'M FREAKING OUT!!!!!
New commenting interface?!  WTF am I going to do?!

Do we get strikethroughs as part of the new package?  Me and PaxJax would be greatly obliged.

Nay on Ballhype
Too much Web 2.0 (is that what it is?), too much clutter... it's just too much. It seems like it could be nice tool, but after visiting it several times since it started I still don't see what I can use it for. I guess I could care less what the 'fans' think should be 'hyped'. 'Cowabunga'.

I haven't figured out
what I want to do with the blog yet, and I've been busy 'hyping' already well-read deadspin links. Is it a MySpace for sports fans too? I've read the explanations, visited... I really, honestly can't grasp what's going on over there. And yes, the buzzwords bother me too.

I guess I could care less

You couldn't care less.

...And I expected better from you.

Seems like
50% of the country says "could" and 50% says "couldn't."

Yeah...
I was going to add that in, but it is pretty much understood.

phraseology
Yes I made a mistake, and shame on me, but my mistake does ring true (which is hardly a defense of poor grammar). I did screw around with thing today so yes, I could care less.

Hah!
How it is then.

That is often the case, though. While one almost always means to use the phrase with disdain and should have said, "I couldn't care less," in nearly all instances, they could probably care at least a little less.

R U HYPED?
So Blogabull and Aaron Gleeman are only narrowly beating Babes Love Baseball (hey, women can be shitty bloggers too!) in hype? Like I always say, Deadspin could use the traffic.

As Borat might say,
"Women use internet?  Haha.  That crazy."

huh?
well, you can restrict your viewing to the stories that are 'hyped' by only those whose judgement you trust. or at least tolerate.

It sounds like you're just frustrated that a lot of people like 'shitty' blogs. But without that truth, how can you maintain your sense of superiority? you NEED that truth, man! :-)

(I did not know I was up there with Gleeman though, that's pretty neat.)

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 10, 2007 3:45 PM CDT up reply actions

Isn't that what my RSS reader is for?
Shitty blog readership doesn't make me feel superior. It's good to know that people can actually read.

by Paxson Jackson @ Blog a Bull on Apr 10, 2007 4:14 PM CDT up reply actions

then I'm the one with the sense of superiority
Because I like showing the masses what posts I think are good, and think they should value my opinion. ;-)

At the worst it's a good clearinghouse for finding new blogs. I'm interested to see how things shake out if there's a ton of participation. Right now a relatively small group of people can skew popularity.
