PLAYOFF Game Thread: Bulls vs. Heat Game 4

I may have too much confidence in a Bulls sweep today. But I figure...the Heat are washed up, old, and probably don't even want to make an extra trip to Chicago. I did enjoy hearing in some places that this team has too much 'pride' to go down easily. What pride? They coasted the whole regular season and seem perfectly content with their rings.

Hopefully half of the players take off their shoes and leave them at midcourt to signify retirement at the end of this one.

If the Bulls do sweep . .
When would the Detroit series start?

I heard on TNT yesterday
that regardless of what the Bulls do the series doesn't start until next weekend. I have no idea if that's accurate info though.

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 29, 2007 11:45 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Sunday
because of the stupid tv schedule, the series won't start until Sunday (I believe)

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 11:47 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

If the series starts on Sunday, do you
know what the schedule would be?

Sunday Tuesday Friday Sunday?

Or Sunday Wednesday Saturday Monday?

Or something else?

Maybe it is just impossible to know.

If the Bulls sweep today, will the league announce the schedule? Or will they wait until all first round series are complete to even announce the schedule?

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 11:53 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That is so lame
A week off for both teams?

Is that so ESPN can hype up the Wallace to Detroit story over and over again until it's the whole world's mind?

I think (think) that the NBA
attempts to coordinate all of the series so that no particular branch of any bracket (east or west) is substantially ahead of or behind the others.

They want all second round series to start at the same point and the conference finals to start at the same time.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 11:57 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I would put money on...
Sunday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday... only because it's the marquee matchup in the East.

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:22 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

This is so
exciting. My stomach is in knots and I am nervous. I hope their day off yesterday has them refreshed and ready to go.

GO BULLS!!!

My team has no "super star". It has players who have desire, determination and heart making them a "super team". GO BULLS!!!

Come on Bulls...
get the sweep.  I despise the Heat

Pre game Prediction
Bulls lose by 7 today, close out series in chicago game 5

by DannyRange on Apr 29, 2007 11:50 AM CDT   0 recs

awesome
i'll make sure to record that in the prediction log. If you're right, you're right!

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 29, 2007 11:54 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

i can imagine the bulls sweeping
and payton and zo upstaging the event by actually takingoff their shoes and leaving them at half court....assholes

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 11:52 AM CDT   0 recs

it'd be ok
if Zo also dropped dead after doing so.

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 29, 2007 11:54 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

and in an ironic twist
no one wants that F*ers organs

side note: anyone know if yo can donate organs after you die if u received those organs form soemone else....like a double transplant

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 11:57 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I predict...
the Bulls blocking five straight shots by Shaq at close range to defensively preserve the win at the last second.  Deja vu.
My girlfriend would rather be with Kirk Hinrich.

by defensive indifference on Apr 29, 2007 11:59 AM CDT   0 recs

am i a pop culture moron?
but whats the derivation of the term baby bulls...i just think it has to be more clever than simple alliteration

It was back when
Tyson and Eddy were playing here as rookies, the team was very young and everybody thought of the second coming of the twin towers....

this may be the worst start imaginable....
please kirk be ok

Damn. No injuries. Please.
That would be about the worst thing to come out of this game.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:03 PM CDT   0 recs

Looks like he just got kneed in the nut/stomach
region by Shaq's giant knee.

Then he hit the stanchion.

BTW
i'm sure the refs are on Miami's side today

i like Yi Jianlian too.  I was talking about him this time last year

I love how Hubie gushes about the Bulls
Nice to see no Bavetta out there as well.
In Pax we Trust!

by Jobu on Apr 29, 2007 12:12 PM CDT   0 recs

Bavetta..
I saw the highlight from the 98 Finals where Jordan made the shot to win the series... clearly Bavetta allowed Jordan to push off on Bryon Russell, clearly a no-call

by Boney on Apr 30, 2007 12:19 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

so true....
we tied the game without a true TO....i love these guys

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 12:14 PM CDT   0 recs

I was just thinking that, too.
I'm really attached to this team - it's hard to imagine any significant changes, at least anything that screws with the core guys.

Other than Shaq, I really think this
Heat team will quit if we put a major run on them in the first half.

Posey and Walker and Williams and Haslem don't want to struggle and fight back. They're ready for summer vacation.

How is "Isotoner" going to help the Heat?

SHIT!
malik is coming in....skiles is getting desparate

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 12:20 PM CDT   0 recs

I can handle Malik for a few minutes
Especially when Mourning is in the game instead of Shaq

by Jobu on Apr 29, 2007 12:22 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Sometimes he can get hot
and start knocking down jumpers.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:23 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

FOul trouble.
We really can't afford to lose BWall.

His defense has been crucial in the fourth quarter of these games.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:21 PM CDT   0 recs

I hate how DWade yells..
when he feels he got hit on his shot.  I know a lot of guys do it, but it's still annoying.  It's almost like Wade invented it.

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:24 PM CDT   0 recs

And I love...
how Hinrich keeps doing it anyway.  Haha.

by defensive indifference on Apr 29, 2007 12:25 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I realize...
Hinrich's not even in the game right now though.

by defensive indifference on Apr 29, 2007 12:26 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

First play was just a great block by Haslem.
Second one looked like a foul, though they didn't replay it.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:28 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

it's a conspiracy!
they aren't calling much for the Heat either.

For a guy that promotes organ donation
Zo doesn't really show much sportsmanship :)

by daaaabulls on Apr 29, 2007 12:28 PM CDT   0 recs

I almost boycotted the NBA this season...
but that's only because there was a rumor that DET was going to try and lure Zo away from MIA after they lost Ben Wallace

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:31 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Could've done without that
Damn you CryBaby Walker

by Jobu on Apr 29, 2007 12:29 PM CDT   0 recs

What a lucky shot. Walker needs to STFU.
Your shoulder shimmy is pathetic.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:29 PM CDT   0 recs

fuckin walker
besides that last three.....for as shitty as we played we're right there...

i like how the bench is getting up for almost every shot.....team's really comin together

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 12:29 PM CDT   0 recs

It's unbelievable
that the heat have antoine and po-z on the same team.

"no one enjoys the moment like antoine"... it's because he so rarely makes a meaningful basket tirico.  jesus.

by daaaabulls on Apr 29, 2007 12:29 PM CDT   0 recs

I don't know about you...
but that lead singer chick from the pussycat dolls is pretty cute.  definitely hotter than Hubie Brown

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:30 PM CDT   0 recs

well there goes my theory
that all mpistons like it up the rump

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 12:40 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

um, weird
why is the Malik-Noc no-rebound frontcourt in the game. Is this November?

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 29, 2007 12:30 PM CDT   0 recs

also
the whole Noc experience evens out if he hits 80% of his threes. which he's done, so credit to him. :-)

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 29, 2007 12:31 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

where the hell has malik come from?
not that i want him out there, but it just seems like he came out of nowhere... hadn't seen him in ages.

by daaaabulls on Apr 29, 2007 12:32 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Defense was pretty weak that quarter.
Wade was getting free in the lane far too often.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:31 PM CDT   0 recs

du-du butter
It's amazing how much of a difference hinrich makes since he can guard wade by himself. With Duhon everybody helps and it opens up shooters.

by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 29, 2007 12:32 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

It's kinda funny
to see them celebrate so much. They're trying from the bottom of their hearts. LOL.

Thank God we won't have to see this team again anytime soon. I'm so sick of the Heat.

Skiles altered his use of TT.
Usually, TT comes in at the end of the first. This time, Malik came in.

Could be because of Ben's foul trouble.

Could be because Skiles lost faith in TT as a result of his last performance.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:33 PM CDT   0 recs

a lot of fans came dressed as empty seats..
jesus, those miami fans really do suck

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:34 PM CDT   0 recs

It's time for both teams to actually play ball...
instead of seeing who can draw the most charges... jesus christ, this series has been almost as bad as watching an ACC game

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:35 PM CDT   0 recs

there's the call you wanted...

nice job leek

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 12:37 PM CDT   0 recs

But was it a charge?
It was illegal contact with an elbow to the face.

by defensive indifference on Apr 29, 2007 12:42 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That's true.
If that's the call, the circle doesn't matter.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:44 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

you know how
when you see over-the-hill past stars, you can see some semblance of why they were once considered good... what's the deal with antoine walker.  just looks god awful out there... how was he ever an all-star... just an ugly game.

by daaaabulls on Apr 29, 2007 12:39 PM CDT   0 recs

Damn it, Sef!
We are playing like dog crap on offense.

Damn, it's ugly right now.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:39 PM CDT   0 recs

jesus christ..
Mike Krzyzewski is going to show this game as an example of how to draw charges in his summer camps...  PLAY BASKETBALL... seriously, even the most die hard Bulls fan can't be happy with all the flops/charges

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:40 PM CDT   0 recs

Drawing charges is a part of playing defense.
If you establish position and get to a spot first, you have a right to stand your ground.

It's a big part of playing defense.

It's not like these guys are flopping on light contact. They are getting hammered.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:41 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I understand
I don't want to piss Matt or all the other Noc lovers off... but it seems like all of the foreign players tend to "flop" more than others.  I realize it's a big part of playing defense, but I have never seen so many guys hit the floor.  I would say on the Bulls, Noc and Duhon are the biggest offenders.

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:43 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

LMAO!
I don't think you should lump Matt in with the Noce lovers!

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:45 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Noc...
I gained a lot of respect for Noc last year in the playoffs...  I don't know what I was thinking...

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:48 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Um, when it's the Bulls getting the calls
I'll take those charges all day long.  Whatever it takes.
In Pax we Trust!

by Jobu on Apr 29, 2007 12:43 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Incredible that they guys are only hitting .321
If the shots start dropping closer to average, Miami is toast.  I really think this is the best they can play against the Bulls at this point, and they can't pull away.

THIS FLOPPING IS RIDICULOUS

walker needs to retire
i hate how he always puts on some melodramatic performance after every shot, miss, foul, etc.

by daaaabulls on Apr 29, 2007 12:46 PM CDT   0 recs

This game has an ACC feel...
a lot of 3s being bombed up.

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:47 PM CDT   0 recs

nice move by thabbbbbbbbbo
sefolosha

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 12:48 PM CDT   0 recs

That was a nice move by Sef, but he has to finish.
As poorly as we are playing on offense, it is amazing we are this close.

If we could start hitting jumpers, we might pull away.

Losing Ben to his third foul hurts.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 29, 2007 12:48 PM CDT   0 recs

ive heard it before
but why the fuck did the heat retire jordans jersey....i know it was some move by riley but anyone have the scoop

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 12:51 PM CDT   0 recs

sign of respect..
that's all I think

by Boney on Apr 29, 2007 12:52 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

i just remember him saying
that he thought the whole league should retire the number for what mj contributed.  no one else took.  i respect it though :)

ironic that the only retired jersey in miami is a bulls one?

by daaaabulls on Apr 29, 2007 12:52 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

i dont buy that
jordan was the GOAT but he didnt do anyhting socially monuamnetal like robinson....the only thing i could see was that jordan, in conjucntion with bird and magic made the league what it is

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 12:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

he did bring the game to new heights
plus the NHL retired Gretzky's jersey league wide.

by jeeves on Apr 29, 2007 2:08 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

boney
i dont hear you bitching about faking a foul ont he shot....perhaps its a move utilized by your beloved hamilton every single shot

or maybe you dont nlike the upfake....perhaps because billupps does that every move....

by milesgmsu on Apr 29, 2007 12:54 PM CDT   0 recs

is it utilized every shot?
or just the ones where the guy is in his face and he's trying to draw a foul?  I don't like when Billups goes up for a shot and kicks his legs and waves his arms around like he just got hit by a bus...

you know what else I don't like though?  how Hinrich wasn't thrown out of the game when he threw his mouthpiece in the crowd the other night...  to be fair, Udonis was ejected for throwing his mouthpiece on the ground last year..
