Game 3 aftermath

 YYYEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

I can't believe the tiny-ball lineup worked. Damn, the Heat must suck.

I'm so proud of these guys. This comeback was beautiful.

::tears of joy::

Sunday is a coronation. The King is dead.

What a fantastic
win for the Bulls. When we were down by 11 I just had a feeling they would come back. I love this team!!!

I want them to win on Sunday but the Bulls fans have been so supportive I would like to see them  win the series at home. The UC would be bonkers.

Love the picture Matt. I noticed how they talked to each other so much tonight.

Can't wait for Sunday.

Oh Sue! Duhon played well tonight! His stats don't show it but he did play a big part in this win.  There was a point though when Nocioni was getting on my nerves with his complaining about getting hit in the eye and Kirk had to coax him to get his head right. I was screaming at the TV when Nocioni was whining under Miami's basket after that Run they had. He did have a nice block on Wade also. I still love Nocioni but he scared me tonight.

chicagosports.com has ben gordon as game mvp
did they even watch the f** game?  a night off and he'd still get 40% of the votes. Just because Ben and 'star' are synonymous because the announcers need one player to cling to, our fans are eating this sh* up...

Kirk and Deng and Recently wallace have been much more valuable for the last stretch. What does it say about a player when fans immediately get nervous whenever they see him 'dribbling' the basketball.

by Seth on Apr 28, 2007 2:07 AM CDT   0 recs

He was the most crucial guy in the 4th
Noone but him seemed to really want the ball as much.  I don't worry when he dribbles, I worry when he passes.  But I love to watch him shoot.

Good Game All around.  Also proves the whole Fro-Rows debate is really unimportant.

This series
is looking like a coming out party for our young guys of Hinrich, Gordon and Deng.

Mostly Deng and Gordon, I believe they both have played spectacular.

by SRQman on Apr 28, 2007 10:14 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Hinrich
I agree Deng has been super solid throughtout and Gordon so key in 2nd, but don't discount Kirk.  Hinrich kept them in game with scoring in 1st half and made Wade work all night which is so key.

The fact that the Bulls don't double Wade and Shaq that much totally throws Miami off.  Teams with players such as Wade/Shaq win because those players get doubled and it makes it easier for everyone ... Bulls don't double, Miami can't score as they aren't used to playing 5 man ball.

by NY Chicago Fan on Apr 28, 2007 10:34 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I agree
that Hinrich has been great and crucial to our victories just in Game 1, he was basically not a factor. I think though for us to go far we need all 3 of them to play well and keep it up. The thing is when one is not playing well one and/or the other 2 are picking up the pace for the one not doing well.

by SRQman on Apr 28, 2007 10:48 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Just voted for Gordon
He was the man last night and our "closer."  Give him the ball, clear out of the way, and let him take it to the rack.  Either he makes it, or he gets to the line.  That's what the stars do in the playoffs, right?  And how about the punishment BG took last night?  I was getting a little worried there for a while.

Also of note, have you guys seen that (I know it's only through 3 games) Deng & Gordon are 4th and 6th, respectively, in ppg in the playoffs?

FlaBull - good call on the Bulls being able to play the Heat straight up.  If/when we win this series, Wallace will be worth every penny.

In Pax we Trust!

by Jobu on Apr 28, 2007 11:18 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Wallace
is doing very well this series also.

The Bulls do well against the Heat because we can take down their stars with 1on1 (like someone above said) and we are so quick on the offensive side that we get so many open shots.

Gordon especially seems to just roll passed the defender and be open at the top of the key.

I hope they get the sweep on Sunday because then we can move on and I will be there.

by SRQman on Apr 28, 2007 11:22 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I don't want to be a downer
but Gordon wasn't the mvp last night.  I could go into reasons why, but the point is why argue this, the Bulls don't seem to worry about it, why should we.  They are an ensemble cast and carry each other so it's kind of ironic that we worry about who the "mvp" was...

by bullshooter on Apr 28, 2007 11:25 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

It's a stupid poll
The biggest downer was the Seth dude whining about the 'team' not being an option or something. Gordon deserves credit, as does everyone else on the team. I don't see a problem with labeling the guy a 'star'. I've been pushing for that the whole season. I don't think anyone is voting or commenting on it as if it's important.

I have waited and hoped for 9 years
this team could blossom and be a legitimate contender.  There were painful times where I would get mad at myself for just "hoping" again.  Last night Paxson's vision and implementation was a rousing success.  On top of everything this team's future looks bright as we are young with a top ten draft pick.

I thought Kirk really stepped up last night.  Deng is a beautiful sight to behold and BG was huge in the fourth quarter. Noc hit the 3 to get us started and took the crucial charge at the end of the game.

I know this is corney but I love this blog.  I get a better feel for a game reading the blog than reading the newspapers.  Plus this is the best place to find information about the Bulls than anyplace I know.  Finally and maybe most important it is a great place to get my feelings out to others who understand.

One more win and on to Detroit!

by chgobr on Apr 28, 2007 8:39 AM CDT   0 recs

I really don't want to think about the draft...
...right now! Seriously, I don't want to. But I do. I can't wait until the Knicks have a representative at the lottery show to get that No. 1/No. 2 pick... And can't wait for the Bulls marching all the way to the conference finals... just to get one of the best players in the draft.

Wow. Last night got a Bulls win, a Cubs win and a Yankees loss... it was a good evening.

by tyger1147 on Apr 28, 2007 9:00 AM CDT   0 recs

I have the same problem
Even watching the relative dominance last night and realizing this Bulls team has a real chance to make it to the Finals this year, I couldn't stop thinking about how great this team can be NEXT year.  Reminding myself that Deng is only 22 and I'm sure Paxson will make some useful off-season moves, I'm struck by how great the potential is for this team is they improve as much in the next 12 months as they've improved in the last 12 months.

The Draft
If Bulls are top three
Oden, Durant, or Horford.
Otherwise, Hawes works.
For the remainder of this series, I will post only in haiku. Hibachi!

by preverbal on Apr 28, 2007 10:15 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

In my humble opinion
A lot of players that could be available will work--Yi, Hibbert, Hawes...maybe even Noah. That's why this draft is so awesome.

by Craig Hodges Explosion 3000 on Apr 28, 2007 12:05 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Nope
I wanna know more about him. Anyone who has watched him have an opinion on him?

I have seen Greg Oden play a lot, Yi Jianlian on NBATV and Roy Hibbert around 5 games.

by SRQman on Apr 28, 2007 11:12 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I watched about a dozen of his games this year
Offensively he has every skill in the book.  Can score with either hand, range out to 18 ft, and I've even seen him run off screens, catch, and shoot like a guard.  He's also a great passer.  He'll rebound his position and hustle defensively, but won't be great in either area.

Some obvious think he's just another stiff, but I think his skills fit in perfectly into the Bulls offense.  He can post some, play pick and pop, and find Deng on his cuts.  He could develop and get stronger while sharing the five with Wallace during the next three seasons.  I'm interested in how he tests out athletically and how his workouts go.

by Craig Hodges Explosion 3000 on Apr 28, 2007 12:16 PM CDT   0 recs

I love all of the positive media attention
the Bulls are garnering today, but it makes me a bit nervous.

We still have to close out this series, which I think we will. I want to do it on Sunday. No life for the Heat.

But even then, we've only advanced out of the first round. While that is an important milestone for the franchise (and its stated goal for the season), it isn't particularly impressive in objective terms.

I don't want the playoff run to end and I don't think it has to, so long as the Bulls maintain their focus. I think we can beat the Pistons.  I think we're a better team and a tough match-up for them (especially if Tyrus can contribute in that series).

While no one in their right mind would call this season is a disappointment if we lose in the second round, we do have an opportunity to go further and it would be a shame to waste it. You never know when such opportunities will come around again.

by 1958ChiTown on Apr 28, 2007 12:19 PM CDT   0 recs

I'd say
Their next goal should be to win an away game in the Detroit series.

The next goal would be to win the series.

Next goal, win the Conference Championships.

Next, win the Finals.

In between these goals, I don't see much to take away.

I still remember the steady progression that Jordan's Bulls had to make before they were on top.  As strange as it sounds, I'd rather do better incrementally each year than get to the Conf. Finals one year and lose in the second round the next.  It's deflating.

by Craig Hodges Explosion 3000 on Apr 28, 2007 12:26 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

The non-Chicago media
(which I guess includes those negative Nellies at the Sun Times) are eating a lot of crow right now.  I love to read all their praises, then jump over and look at their pre-series predictions of Heat in 6.

Anyway, I don't worry about the Bulls just because the media has done a 180, because it sounds like most of the big Heat guys (especially Shaq) aren't changing their arrogant attitude, and I don't think they'll get the win Sunday unless they can admit the Bulls have been the better team all season and have played better this series.
