Another Pax interview is up at the Score
[From the Diaries. North is awful but a Pax interview is a Pax interview. And it's just nice to start a new thread. On a completely unrelated note, 3 results from the SBNation Readers choice voting have been posted: R.O.Y., 6thMan, M.I.P. -Matt]
A very soft-hitting but still interesting interview by Mike North this morning can be found here:

More on the Deng/Pau trade talks, plus stuff on Skiles and how he's built trust with the young guys, TT being in early today to work on his jump shots, the swap pick, Kirk, Thabo, and Ben Gordon.

cute
on a side note; matt is there anything you can implement to the site, or SBnation can do, with proofreading checking
i would recommend...
I'm sure Internet Explorer has one by now, too. It won't check grammar, but it would have given you a read underline for that definately. Oh jeeze, I just noticed how horrible that was spelled... lemme try: defentely. My fingers didn't want to do it.
Duh, Sue...
Sorry to have to explain this, but you did do a good job of trying to mock a mocker. We're all friends here.
Here's something we can agree on: BOOOO Tyler Smith!
maybe i have a learning disability
or maybe I'm a pistons fan...
either way........
You should get Mozilla Firefox

I know you're joking about the comments/hour, but this isn't like a chat room, the type of place where speed is an issue.

Understandably...
Except in live game threads; there speed is everything
I listened to the whole segment
Paxson is really focused on the games in Miami. One heartbreak game and everything can change. This is what happened to Dallas last year in game 3.
I thought Paxson was very supportive of TT. TT was already at the Berto Center practicing at 9AM today.
Thanks for the link to an interview I would have missed.
Interesting comment about the lottery....
haha that'd be so funny to watch.

Speaking of Cleveland,

I thought that was an excellent way of putting it, especially after watching highlights of the game last night.

Did they change the format again?
now it 2 2 1 1 1 ?

Playoff Format
The Finals is 2 3 2.
Thus, Bulls win in 5.
Great News
Ben Wallace didn't practice today with a sprained ankle.
Probably precautionary

Ankle sprain?
Belated Heat Matchup Question
Anyway, does anyone else think that every damn move the Bulls made last offseason was with a Heat matchup in mind?
Big Ben--Shaq
PJ Brown--Shaq/Zo
Thabo--Wade
Griffin--Wade (due to his performance last year with Mavs)
T2--Zo/Posey/Haslem? (biggest question mark, but he definitely offers something in the paint)
GO BULLS!

I definently see
well pax and skiles said as much
Bold prediction
I certainly agree with Paxson's opinion on
Paxson said a fifteen foot jumper would be key, though I think Tyrus could open up his game with an ever shorter 6-10 foot jumper, like Amare. It would make defenders respect his head fake and open up the lane for him. I've been saying that for a while.
http://www.blogabull.com/comments/2007/4/4/185412/0068/68#68
Good to hear that Tyrus is working on that aspect of his game.
I also thought it was interesting that Paxson noted it was very hard to trust rookies in the playoffs, though Skiles trusted Thabo quite a bit in game one (perhaps out of necessity).
necessity
by your friendly BullsBlogger on Apr 26, 2007 2:44 PM CDT up reply actions
Ya
Which is fun to watch, and great when it works, but a nice 12 foot jump-shot would make him a lot harder to guard. A reliable short-medium jumper would prevent defender from camping out under the basket and waiting for him (like Zo did the other night).

More respect for the Bulls
Main part of this article is about Shaq never reaching his potential, but there is also a segment on trying to stop the Bulls' perimeter guys from scoring. Kind of funny - it's talking about BG, Kirk and Lu, but Fox has a photo of the Spurs posted with it.
I was wondering about that too.
That article by the scout clarified for me why
That's right

gotta disagreee
if he ddint reach his potnetial, iw oudl hate ot see what potential would be.....i think you can ite far bettee examples of not meeting potential (telfiar as i watch news of his dismissal from the celtics, but myriad others as well).
finally; MVP also has alot of extrenuaitng circumstances; shaq has always had a superstar next to him; wings and guards are sexier picks; and shaq is consistent
OT Question:
Citizen Deng (I think)

Have you even watched these games?
by Paxson Jackson @ Blog a Bull on Apr 27, 2007 11:33 AM CDT up reply actions
This will be a tough game to win.
If this is close with five minutes to go I will be a wreck. Forget about sleeping tonight. My favorite game 3 was the Bulls-Seattle final. I forget the year - maybe 1996. The Bulls walk into Seattle up 2 - 0 and blow them away. The game was over by half-time. Unfortunately these are different teams.
Go Bulls!
If the Bulls lose this game by more than 30, I
What are you talking about, man?
I am sure the Heat will get some favorable calls from the refs, because refs tend to respect superstars and because the Heat are at home. However, I don't really buy this conspiracy talk. The Bulls are from Chicago, not Memphis. Chicago is the third largest city in the country. It's a huge media market. Moreover, because of the Jordan years, the Bulls also have a nationwide (and international) following. Not to mention, think about the drama inherent in a second round series versus Detroit. Ben Wallace returning to face his old team. That would generate ratings.
I hope your post was a joke.

Heat Tactics
Even if the NBA doesn't have a reason to hate the Bulls, they can't be rooting for a $weep.
*Could they be playing Duh right now because they want to push his stock as high as possible for a trade this offseason?

I agree that Wade will
by 1958ChiTown on Apr 27, 2007 12:59 PM CDT up reply actions
Maybe...
But exposing him on repeated, nationally-televised basis (bases??? anyone?) is not the way to get it up?
Perhaps benching him, and then whenever the Bulls get knocked out, saying, "Wow, I really wish we would have played Duhon more. He could have stopped __ at the point of attack."
I think Du played on Tuesday because
Skiles alluded to this yesterday, I believe.
Now, why he inserted Duhon and not Thabo, I don't know.
Here's why playing Duhon doesn't make sense to me.
Thabo is averaging 9 PPG on about 65% shooting and 3.5 RPG.
Duhon is averaging 1.5 PPG on 0% FG shooting (hasn't hit a shot) and 2.5 RPG.
Now, Duhon has averaged more assists than Thabo (3 APG to 1 APG) and fewer TO's (O TOPG to 1 TOPG), so maybe that is the rationale, but if so, it's pretty flimsy.
By the way, I believe we'll see more of that
Riley's goal is probably to make us go small in response and spread us out so that Wade can get into the lane and to the rim without facing help defense from shotblockers. If we collapse, Wade kicks it out for three to a jump shooter.
Oh, and...

On Cold Pizza this morning
I thought this made kind of an interesting counterargument to the Stern conspiracy theorists - I think you can make a good argument that it's better for the NBA overall for a hardworking team that takes things seriously to win. It sets sort of a bad precedent if the Heat goof around all season then are successful postseason again. And the NBA is pretty decent at marketing things - a "cinderella" type storyline might play really well for them.
Anyway, just hadn't heard that line of argument before, so thought I'd share.
