I don't consider Mitchell a candidate because for me, Toronto's success came more from Executive moves than great coaching.

What the heck is Van Gundy doing
on these lists? Coaching doesn't impact much, but seriously...
  1. Scott Skiles
  2. Dwane Casey
  3. Nellie - only over Sloan because of google image search.

Rockets were the best defense in the league all season....until the Bulls overtook them in the final week.

I think I have to vote Shane Battier DPOY now.

Worthless award anyway
I don't see how Vince Carter's cousin staying relatively healthy has anything to do with Van Gundy. Chuck Hayes had a big efficiency dropoff, but he still gets my Rugged Rebounder of the Year vote too.

Sloan
Doesnt deserve coach of the year just based on the way he has used kirilenko all this year.  The guy used to be a candidate for defensive player of the year and a great all around player and now this year he has been used poorly as an outside shooter.  To tell you the truth, i havent seen that many Utah Jazz games but I think Sloan has mishandled the situation with Kirilenko.  Here is the article that inspired this post.

My pick:
1.) Sam Mitchell
2.) Avery johnson
3.) Mike D'Antoni

sloan still took
deron williams, boozer, AK47, okur, and gordon giriciek to 50 wins in the west....even if it was in the NWest

Coach
I had Phil Jackson near the top earlier in the year, but not anymore.
  1. Avery Johnson
  2. Jerry Sloan
  3. Honestly, I can't think of an appropriate third.  So I'll go with Mike (you choose - Dunleavy or Brown) - consider that an "abstain" since no one will seriously vote for either of them.

CoY
  1. Popovich
  2. Karl (bonus points for managing AI and Melo's egos and for making fun of the Knicks for whining while about getting blown out)
3)D'Antoni... it's all about the 'stache
