Open Game Thread #28: Bulls at New York Knicks
[Thanks again to bullshooter. Like a Noc defensive rotation, better late than never, right? -Matt]
Unless Matt is working feverishly elsewhere, here's a game thread. Curry has been benched and David Lee is the starter. Jamal Crawford is out with a finger. I look for BG to continue to emerge from early season doldrums and the Bulls to take advantage of the Knicks general dysfunction. Also, it'd be nice if the Bulls could get a lead in the second half so that some of the guys could get a more extended look.

About time!
Last two possessions show the difference between
Knicks get all the loose balls and Bulls make the stupid passes and fouls.
When does Joe Smith get yanked
It actually

If Tyrus just had 2 turnovers, 2 fouls
Will Gray play in the 2nd half?
...he'll play
That isn't a good enough reason.
You may forget
who was TT going to matchup against?
who would match up with Thomas?

Good quarter.
What's with all the traveling calls?
Looks like Noah is in now.
Bulls are passing well,
If they could just keep the Knicks from getting second chance points, they can easily blow the Knicks out. They run terrible offensive sets and look a step slow in comparison to the Bulls players ( and benching Nocioni-aka Count Chuck-Alot wouldn't hurt either ).

I hate Violett
you can see the difference between gray and noah
but Noah is quick enough to get steals

It's amazing
Gray does have a smooth hook shot
Nice quarter
Really nice quarter.
And Noah getting some significant minutes. Boylan demonstrating that he will stay with a rookie if the rookie plays well.
"Pushing the ball"
Now lets see TT and Noah together.
The Knicks look horrible.
Dude, come on.

Maybe they should sit Wallace for awhile.
(The thought of Howard being defended for long stretches by Gray or Noah makes me scared-sad.)
I'm not even that upset with Gray playing
But why Noc keeps getting so much time is more bothersome.

Everyone on the court has played well...
His shooting over the last month has been terrible.
I think Boylan has made a decision to sit Tyrus, though.
at least Noah's playing
Pax should be fired if he used his entire '06 drafte netted 3 DNP players.

Tyrus must have fucked a coach's wife.
Oh, well. So long as the Bulls keep winning without him, he'll remain anchored to the bench.
And I thought the Bulls had problems
Tomorrow is a real test.
Tomorrow is the first real test of the Boylan era!
hopefully our former defensive player of the year

Memo to Jim Boylan:
Just thought I'd point out
Didn't get to
Glad to see they won. Two in a row. Woo hoo!! Sounds like BW played well.
Sounds like Tyrus was the coach killer!

Changed my blog address check her out
For whatever reason Matt keeps blocking me here but hey it's his blog.
Anyways before he blocks me again I think the Bulls should try to deal Nocioni assuming they keep playing well and moving the ball like this. I don't think Nocioni has a great basketball IQ and if you could get a scoring 2 with size I think that could do wonders for this team. Seeing as Sefolosha won't set the world on fire offensively and he's looking more like a project. If they can continue to play well then maybe getting a slashing 2 guard who can get to the foul line should be on Paxsons list of things to do.
I really like what Boylan is doing here so far. As much as you guys bash Gray I think you have to be fair because you do have to account for his size which creates some spacing. He also seems to pass well to open shooters. So damn give the guy some props he was second rounder I think this guys a great find by Paxson. When I watched him in the preseason I thought he was going to contribute and give Wallace more chances to play his natural 4 spot where he can wreak havoc on the boards. But yeah the team really needs a slashing guard and of course an inside guy but thats hard to find and I'm not sold on Pau Gasol but who knows. I think they should try to inquire about Magette he would fit in perfectly on the Bulls. He slashes and can knock down the 3 ball. Oh he can also get to the line. Anyways checkout my blog.

My question is why did he stop in the second half? He needs to be more offensive minded. Good game by Kirk!
by JoeJoe on Dec 30, 2007 3:57 PM CST up reply actions
Kirk
Sue
I watched it.
To be fair
Like i said its still a decent game, anytime hinrich is not in foul trouble and is not turnover prown (hell this is true for all players) that is a good thing. Hinrich is getting more aggresive, but hes still not where he was say his rookie or sophmore year. But i think with boylans system (for now) hinrich will be able to get more accustomed to shooting. I am hoping that when we look at his stats at the end of the season, the second half of the season stats will be above his normal careers (at this point im looking forward to something along 17 pts and 8 assists per game. Its no 'second coming of the great white guard' but its good enough to mean something to this team. I also hope hinrich from here on out will show consistency, the last two seasons (including this one) have been a burden, especially when it comes to defending him.
NO...He is not over rated, he is still under rated....i just cant prove that...only hinrich can...
Considering he
I was at the game today
Bulls bench....
-Bulls management might as well trade Tyrus because the only thing I saw him do today was sing to Cheryl Lyn's "Got To Be Real" and give the other players dap... might as well trade for someone that might actually get minutes
-Aaron Gray got called for traveling about 3-4 times & the Knicks were stumbling around like fools for most of the game
-BG had his ususal Madison Square Gordon magic
-Kirk had a good game too - say what you will about him but he is very agressive on D
-In the last minute, Duhon was the only starter on the floor, but A-drain was out there for only about ten seconds before he took a crappy shot
Even tho I didn't get to see TT play, I did get to hear the "Fire Isiah" chants MORE than once hahahAa
I wouldn't give up on him yet.
