back-to-back preseason recap-preview
Sort of half-watched the game, and it was pretty abysmal. Wallace was held out, Deng (mildly I hope) hurt his wrist early, and Gordon's still out. So you get lineups like Hinrich-Curry-Khryapa-Thomas-Noah, and thus lots of turnovers. Noah did his best Tyson Chandler impression, which was scary to see. Hopefully it was just a bad outing because I thought he had been doing a good job catching and finishing strong.
Tyrus also looked shaky at points, especially in a stretch guarding Andrea Bargnani where he was consistently baited into fouls or getting caught off balance. Ryan McNeill of HoopsAddict.com was credentialed at the game and kindly passed along to me this postgame quote from Tyrus:
Ryan also gave me this from Skiles:
Eh, it's not as much losing-type basketball as it is just preseason basketball. But hopefully things at least look better tonight against the Pacers. Since it's a back-to-back I don't know how many real lineups will be seeing. Preseason is for Aaron Gray, not for me.

Yeah....me too!
Really?
wjb - are you cable or DirecTV?
Dish
I guess this is the one time that living in the middle of nowhere works to my advantage.
Well I suppose Seattle could be considered
But I'm blacked out too....
Seattle, huh?
Which part of Seattle?
Which part of Seattle?
North end.
Oh....and if you are DISH and not directv
Different feeds...
We had NBALP with Dish
Sue - it's on #752 now
are you right by your pc?
strange that it is blakced out
NBA.com?
actually, click on my name
The problem with Funk/Wennington
Bulls are only up by 2 now
I'm watching philly stomp boston
Yeah, I was watching that earlier
Funny how preseason is so exciting when it first gets here, just to have basketball back in the news and all, and then about now it starts getting really old! I'm feeling ready for normal lineups and games that count.
All the crap about the sonics out here
I hate seattle sports.
Kind of ironic
Yeah...and I think that when the sonics come there
The Seattle Trailblazers....kinda has a fitting that's-what-ya-get-for-bein'-a-crappy-sports-town ring to it, eh? :-)
Hey folks - it's on #752 DirecTV now!
Kirk seems to be getting knocked down a lot
I'm getting the same, no commercial feed now too.
:-)
That would be awesome.
Gray looks pretty solid again tonight
make that 16 pts up now
But WGN's feed is having on/off issues
Noc has a hot hand right now...
Channeling his inner-BG
only 2 fouls so far
oh and all you still hatin on tt for taking his summer at home, he's still the youngest guy on the roster. It's going to take time for him to develop.
by brianmita on Oct 20, 2007 9:30 PM CDT up reply actions
Yeah, but the point is he could and SHOULD
Just 'cuz he's young is no excuse, and the Bulls staff have been public with their unhappiness about it too.
yeah
If TT doesn't do the summer work next year, then I'll be disappointed. I'm sure his teammates will too.
but if this game is a benchmark, I'm impressed that tt has gone twenty minutes and he only has 2 fouls. being humble about guarding bargnani is another good step toward tt being a complete player.

The way I see it
You gotta try and win NOW - there is no tomorrow.
You never know what will or won't happen, and these guys make more than they ever have.
And the Bulls could really use him being more mature, if nothing else.
But that's just my opinion and nothing more.
It's not a right or wrong, and I see yours as well. :-)
Either da Bulls are looking good
Anyone else having sat. feed issues?
How many turnovers for Duhon?

Too funny!
JAMESON!!! HE's the hero tonight
Nah,
yeah but that's his first time being THE guy.
Even "play of the game" :-)
True
Good to see him step up and make that one on a not-so-hot shooting night.
Since the beginning of the game was blacked out
I don't think
Does anyone know what the black wrist bands are that the players were wearing tonight?
I didn't notice
My feed was
Did you get to see the Grease Lightening thingy with the players faces imposed on the actors bodies? Freaking hilarious. Noch was the lead (Danny) and Kirk and Big Ben were dancing out front.
That cracks me up.
It was fun to watch the guys watching it.

I think he
Whatever your points or point is/are rather weak.
by joejoeEnglish94bulls4ever on Oct 22, 2007 12:49 PM CDT up reply actions
the reason
If other teams (including the Bulls) thought that Kirk was a more valuable piece than BG, then you would see his name constantly in trade rumors.
Fact is, nobody wants Kirk. Sure a team would take him in a heartbeat, but nobody is trying to trade anything away for him. Teams always inquire about Ben because of the caliber player that he is.
Jerry Buss (and other owners) want someone who is instant offense, someone who has the capability to score 50 in a game...aka Ben. They don't want someone who may be decent and will only get them 15-20 a game with 5 assists.
by ScottieCartwright on Oct 22, 2007 1:44 PM CDT up reply actions
the trade value for BG is higher than Kirk because
sorry. no dice.

Sigh
The last preseason game? Hell they have all sucked at one time or another this preseason. You don't like him I guess you will have to live with it. He's not going any where.
it's an asinine comment
sorry for the smack back, but JoeJoe, please don't insult one of the most respected posters here. it's rude.

whatever you just wana get laid.

I'm not a huge Hinrich fan
He does get kudos for general grittiness, but he's also often characterized as a whiner. And even our home broadcast teams point out that he tends to hang his head and get discouraged when things aren't going his way.
Still, I see him as a decent role player, who, as long as he sticks to his role, is fine to have on the court.
