nice job
agreed with the whole thing, and something I didn't think about was if this team is built for the playoffs.  I agree that in the playoffs, the Bulls will need that superstar, but I'm hoping it will come from the guys they already have.

(I don't mean to be annoying, but in case you can still edit that thing, there are some apostrophe problems.  Son So in Paragraph 2 it's "Bulls' rotation"; in Para. 4 it is not "Skiles'" because it is not possessive of anything; in Para. 5 it's "Bulls' young scorers")

well, no, I no longer can edit it...maybe I can shoot an email over to Jeff though, thanks :-)

Great post
Nice job Matt.  Solid analysis all the way around.  To jump on the nitpick bandwagon, isn't Ty2 technically the #4 pick, not the #2?

well said
good post matt....agreed with everything except the thought of that major trade by the deadline. I see us adding that post up player next year.

I'd like to agree
but it just seems like we're stacking ourself with a lot of young talent and depth for a reason.  If we come out playing incredible this year and don't have a weakness, I don't think there will be a trade bc why fix something that isn't broke?  If it's obvious we have some problems (post?), there will be a big trade involving our core.

By "next year," do you mean draft, trade, or FA?

well...
I honestly see it either happening through either draft or free agency (maybe even sign and trade). With New York's pick next year, even if it isn't a top 3 pick, the draft is the deepest draft for big men in years. Oden, Durant, Noah, Mcroberts, Horford, Wright, etc. etc. All of these big men are eligible next year. So you figure we have a shot at any of them.  But if there really is a problem splitting time for Deng and Chapu, then I'd see them addressing that next year. We're already trying to get so many new faces adjusted to our system as we speak. I don't see them wanting to go through that again in Mid-February....unless someone like Garnett was really available, which I dont think he will be.

If we don't make a big trade
during the season, my money will be on a trade draft night.  That would assume we get a high pick from NY though, not necessarily a top 3, but a good lottery pick.

Noc is a FA after this year, so if his playing time becomes an issue there is always a sign and trade.  I don't think he's a restricted FA, so we'd have to hope he goes to a team that would need a sign and trade to get him.

As far as a KG goes, if Minny sucks, he'll be traded.  If they are doing well and definitely going to make the playoffs at a decent seed, he'll stay.

I 100% confident there will be a trade though, we are just too deep and some guys will be mad at their lack of playing time.

im pretty sure
noce is restricted, although i honestly would rather keep the team together as is, rather than adding a KG and becoming more like the rest of the leauge in that they depend on the star guy. remember: last year kg watched the playoffs at home while gordon, hinrich, nocioni, and deng played.

hmmm
haven't seen Garnett play much in the post lately. most ive seen him score is by shooting and put backs. I dont think hed be our answer for that post player we want so badly.
