Open Game Thread #45: Bulls at Minnesota Timberwolves

I'm extremely worried that after a relatively strong performance in 35 minutes last night, Ben Wallace will be oh so tired for this one, and that'll mean big(er) things for Al Jefferson this time around.

Deng's out. As far as I can tell, Duhon, Smith, and Gordon are maybes.

And why should you be stressed about the Bulls?

Nonsense
Thabo not playing enough
Noah and Tyrus not playing enough
Wallace playing too much.

I think we are going to continue to see this until the trade dealine because Pax wants to showcase potential trade candidates, ie, Wallace. After that Noah, Thomas, Thabo, etc will get a LOT more playing time because Pax thinks that after the trade deadline there will be enough time to make the playoffs.

The Office
If anyone watches the Office, one of the episodes Jim runs out of ways to pull pranks on Dwight and decides to give it up, until Dwight gives him yet another idea and another reason he deserves a prank.  Jim thought it wasn't possible for Dwight to get more annoying, and sure enough he does it, just like every time the bulls can't get worse, they go for it and prove us wrong.  For those no longer watching the bulls, watch the Office it'll make you laugh instead of sitting here in misery 90 percent of the time.
And the starting line up for your world champion Chicago Bulls. . .

He needs to finish his drives. Tonight, he beat his man off the dribble a couple of times and created good shots within two feet of the rim, but didn't make them.

Noah should play a lot more he is truly this teams best player. I am happy teams passed on him because this kid is going to be a lot better than Horford. Why do people even think Al undersized Horford is better than NOAH?

by armstrong2389 on Jan 30, 2008 10:10 PM CST reply actions

He may be
Horford's a terrific talent and deserving of the third selection, but I can agree to what you're alluding to, and that is that Noah has been underrated (by most everyone except David Thorpe).  I knew Noah was more skilled than seemed to be acknowledged, but he still has surprised me this year, especially on offense.  Horford and Noah would be a dream 4/5.

by messwiththebull on Jan 30, 2008 11:09 PM CST up reply actions

Just got back from the game,
It was an excellent example of everything wrong with this team.  Boylan and his stupid rotations.  He has 3 somewhat healthy guards and he still decides to play a 3 guard lineup along with Nocioni and Wallace?  It should be a crime to put five guys on the floor that all 6'7" or shorter in an NBA game.  Wallace was active and still terrible tonight.  He killed the offense every time he caught the ball, and you can't convince me Al Jefferson would have scored more on Tyrus or Noah.  Duhon was his usual self.  He doesn't commit turnovers because he doesn't try to do anything on offense.  All he does is dribble the shot clock out.  He's decent when they're at least three solid scorers on the floor and the ball is out of his hands, but with Gordon and Deng out Griff is actually a better option.  Nocioni demonstrated over and over again that he doesn't bring his brain with him on to the basketball court.  The play where he waved Noah out of the post when Noah had much better position  was classic Nocioni.  I'm ready to move Nocioni onto the trash heap with Duhon, Wallace, Smith, and Griff.  This team can't afford to have Boylan coach another 30+ games.

by Scotter on Jan 30, 2008 10:29 PM CST reply actions

Another gem!
I have to laugh to stop the crying.  I understand that the team was short-handed, but this is completely unacceptable.  There is NO REASON to play Chris Duhon.  He should be waived as he is the most offensively inept PG is recent memory.  Please take a look at www.benchduhon.com.  Every time he takes the court I want to punch the TV.
