Well we're finally ranked 30th...sounds about right to me

Although I think Hollinger's rating system is less than ideal, it does prove what we've seen that our guys have been terrible to date.  This seems to signal why Skiles is doing a "try anything" approach with the starting lineup.

We're ranked dead last in Hollingers stats.....I know it's early, but it's not that early now (6 games in or 7%).

Hopefully this will motivate our guys tonight:

This is a last attempt to theorize why Bulls may
be playing badly. It all comes down to the rhythym of the Bulls offense. In the past couple years, there has been a motion offense, with no post play. There has also been a lack of free-throws due to our guys rarely attacking the rim. This year their has been a strong desire to move to a more post-up based offense AND we have a player who loves to attack the rim starting. It would seem that the Bulls have intelligently attempted to diversify the offense away from the reliance on jumpshooting of the past few years. Unfortunately, diversity also means added complexity and I believe the Bulls have lost the rhythm that made them such outstanding shooters in the past.
It seems that teams have moved back towards the basket to guard against penetration as well as to counter the Bulls formidable offensive rebounding abilities. Now the Bulls are given wide-open looks at the basket early in the shot clock instead of having to work the ball around. When the Bulls have these shots they are not in rhythm and often miss, that also helps the other team save the energy they once had to expend chasing the Bulls around each possession. The bottom line is, the Bulls are going through a transition period in their offense which in the long term will make them a much more formidable team.

Sure hope you're right
I hope that's the case.  To me I just see the guys playing without energy, everyone trying to do too much me-first type of play, and Captain Kirk being a shell of himself.

Oh and I won't mention more on Big Ben...

Genius
That is quite an intresting deduction. Truly, i didnt even bother considering that, but it does make alot of sense. Coincidentally this morning i was reading a book by phil jackson in which theres a part where he talks about adopting the triangle offense, and how he studied it long and hard, and the different types of tripple post plays that could be run. It may be that skiles was trying to incorporate some sort of post offense with luol deng and thomas and forgot to really didnt account the negetive effects that it would have on the team

on a side note, another thing that intrigued me from that book was how jackson considered paxson to be a huge part of that first championship series against the lakers. Both Jordan and Jackson considered the fact that Paxson could hit his open shots to be what really put them over the edge against the lakers. In that regard i think Paxson should really take hinrich under his wing. Paxson shot well over 50% (i cant remember the exact number, nor do i feel like looking it up) in his career, and had the respect of Jordan (something fairly hard to earn) due to his ability to hit the open shot. Kirk really needs to inherit this ability, he is a pretty good shooter, and unlike paxson knows how to find his own shot (assuming he is not in a slump) but what he really needs to lock down is hitting shots when left open....that will be key for the bulls

im trying hard to become the next kirk hinrich, therefore im doing nothing more than being the next chris duhon.

That was a very good piece of writing. I agree with you totally. As far as being ranked 30th, that is just a symptom of our over-reactice media today in sports....the race to be first with headlines or being correct is amazing...all thanks to blogs:)....so all of the "experts" are just covering their ass...the Bulls were picked by 8 out of the 10 ESPN experts to win the East....

Not to get too cocky, but it's
like when Tiger Woods tried to revamp his swing and lost some tournaments and people thought that he lost his skills. It's like no one ever heard of one step back two steps forward before.

I disagree....
It feel more like you beat down your little brother everyday and then he has a growth spurt goes to basketball camp and he starts learning how to kick your ass and then he becomes some small towns star high school basketball player. And your like what 5'8 and balding.

Hey, the Bulls were always considered the little
brother, ie Baby Bulls. It would be odd if they were "balder" than those old men on the Pistons and Celtics who seem to be our main competition in the East.

over...media...sports... BLAH!!!
Hollinger's rankings are purely statistical.

My team is ranked only (X) even though we've done (Y). Why do you hate my team so much?

The rankings are the result of a formula, plain and simple.

I have no subjective input into it whatsoever, and in fact the updated rankings are on ESPN.com before I'm awake. Although I am, in fact, horribly biased against your favorite team, their position in the rankings has nothing to do with this.

Nice try, though.

Tiger Woods is a good analogy...
I remember all of the talk, is he finished, what is he doing to his swing, etc.....Go MotherF**kin' Bulls!!! Got to win tonight....

Don't expect a win till December...
... or till we get Kobe. Next year there are several guards to choose from in the draft: OJ Mayo, Derrick Rose, Nicolas Batum, Jerryd Bayless and Eric Gordon. All of which has a bigger upside than our current guards BG6.9 and Private Kirk. There also a beast named Michael Beasley available next year who maybe as good as Durant. So all hope is not lost. If we lose out this season we may be big winners next season. I especially like Mayo and Beasely because of the nastiness in their game. We have too many nice guys with talent and talentless loudmouths. We need a talented, nasty superstar which maybe available next year.

And also fire Skiles.

LAST 3 YEARS = SLOW STARTS, GOOD SEASONS.

my gosh, the way people blow things out of preportion. the turnaround will begin against the Los Angeles Lakers, and then they'll be fine. Jeeze.

1-5? So what! The Bulls will win the East!

If Bulls
draft this Eric Gordon and trade Hinrich for Gerald Wallace, do you realize they could start a line up with:

Ben Wallace   Eric Gordon   Gerald Wallace   Ben Gordon

I'm finally on board with you. Trade everybody else for Kobe Bryant!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless they can get a Gerald Eric
or Eric Gerald for the fifth spot, I don't like it.
