Open (preseason) game thread: Bulls midwest barnstorming tour
Bulls vs. Sonics today in Lawrence, Kansas, the collegiate stomping grounds of Kirk Hinrich and the Sonics' Nick Collison.
It's on TV, who knew? 1pm Central on WGN. I was going to relay to you the good news that since it was a Sunday afternoon Wayne Larivee would be busy doing a Packers game, but they have their bye week. Wayne probably would've tried to do both games anyway, media whore.
And speaking of football, Bears don't play 'til Monday night, so there's no excuse not to gather the family around the TV for Bulls preseason action.

A few thoughts
- Luke Ridnour is a chump.
- Sefolofsica, Red?
- Naismith may have invented basketball, but not the shot clock.

youre wrong
I dunno
Which market do you live in?
Thinking I was getting the short end of the stick (after reading your post), I called the fine folks at In Demand. Turns out, we, in the Las Vegas valley, ARE getting the short end of the stick.
Essentially, it depends upon the service contract that your cable provider has signed with In Demand.

WGN
Tyrus looked good
Also, Thabo was better today, I believe it he had 9 points, don't know how many rebounds or assists (I counted 3 but I didn't see the entire game) and he had a couple of blocks as well.
Schencher looked horrible, he tried to do a sky hook and it was one of the worst shots I've seen in a while. Also, when seattle was coming back at the end he played horrible defense, he tried to take a charge and a guy walked around him and scored a layup. Then he got a couple of fouls late in the game as well. I saw him drop a couple of passes too.
Andre Barret looks like he has a chance to make the team maybe. He's showing he can both shoot and drive and he's not afraid to take a big shot. He's quick and he can jump pretty high too.
Hinrich played great in the first half along with fellow KU alum Nick Collison. But I didn't see a lot of Hinrich in the 2nd half.

Rookies
Thomas can sure jump high. That block on Wilcox was pretty incredible. And he'll be an asset defensively guarding taller wing players, he handled Rashard Lewis pretty well tonight.
and the big preseason star, Khryapa, showed off some 3-point range today.

I didn't see a lot of either
B-jizzle (even wierder) looked like his defense was noticably better than last year. He was in his man's face and put pressure on the ball. He looked smooth in his shot and it looked like he was just playing like he was in practice, like he wasn't having a hard time getting a shot off or anything. I didn't see much of either of these guys but thats what i saw

I hate
Sounds like it was a great game. The game tomorrow night isn't televised either is it?
Thabo
Thoughts on Luke...
So far it seems to me that Andre (the Non-Giant) Barrett has been outplaying Luke the Giant in the pre-season.
Maybe it's unfair to compare the guys-
one's an Ent and one's a Hobbit....
But with only two roster spots left, one of those guys (or both, possibly) needs to go.
Anybody else have some thoughts about Luke Vs Barrett?

Why the fuck is there no box score available?
At least
I read that Nocioni is back in Chicago to attend to a personal matter and will not be with the team tonight.
I love the part

Sports Nite
Sunday observations
At the end of the 2nd half there was much debate about how much time was left on the clock... what no one noticed is that the clock stopped at 1.0 for at least half a second. The Bulls ended up getting 0.2 to shot (which is not enough time for anything more than a tip).
Also, in the original post Matt made fun of Wayne. I certainly appreciate ANY announcer bashing, I feel we have the worst in the NBA, certainly the worst for a big market. However, I have decided this preasason that I like Wayne much more than Tom.
