There are more and more reports every day coming out that the bobcats will be buyers at the ever approaching dead line. A report I read earlier today, not saying it happened today but that's when I read it. Is that the cats are trying to trade Gordon and have contacted the bulls about taj. Now a taj for Gordon deal straight up does not work because of money. But a taj and dunleavy for Gordon and pargo does. Possibly even an extra pick from Charlotte or even remove the protection from this years pick so no matter what the bulls get this seasons draft pick.
I actually want to know what people think about trading taj away.
This one trade idea is just one example of a team that might be interested. Probably the mavs and suns would be interested too. But again this is one option. So I was wondering what everyone honestly feels about a taj trade.
I think it makes sense and this is why. The bulls do it because it gives them more cap space this summer. Along with an amnesty of boozer they have enough money to have 2 first round draft pick(cap holds) bring over mirotic and have enough for a max contract. I'm not naming names because this isn't a debate about melo or lebron or so and so. This is about moving taj away. So again I think the bulls do this because it clears more space. Clearly makes them worse and gets them closer to the lottery and hopefully a real shot at either wiggins or Parker.
Taj is a Very good player. Not great but not bad. And if the he plan is to bring mirotic over this summer then why keep taj? Bringing mirotic over clearly means he starts. I doubt he would want to come over just to sit on the bench. So with him starting taj goes back to being a back up. Well why pay a backup 7+ million. When you can find a quality back up big on the open market for less, or use a draft pick for a back up big(back up for now grooming behind Noah possibly) seriously look up the list of free agent 4's and 5's. There are a lot. I like taj. He is good defensively, he can finish, but he isn't going to be your starting 4 long term. That's mirotics role to fill or fail at but the only way is to have him start. And if the heat have proven anything over the past 3 season is a bench of very good players in not a need in a championship team. Even the mavs when they won had an ok bench. The bench is nice in the regular season but in I the playoffs it's all about the starting 5. Moving dunleavy simply gives the cats a scorer off the bench and a salary match up. I think the cats do it because they are a franchise that needs a playoff run to help their fan base. Taj gives them a starting 4 who is better than their current 4 and dunleavy coming off the bench helps anyone.
What are your honest thoughts of moving taj. I think it makes more sense to move than keep him. Hell if I had my way. I would totally blow it up and move Noah if possible( maybe the mavs for Marion's expiring deal and draft picks) and really build around rose, mirotic, and the draft.
