The Bulls seem pretty content with the team’s core and the opportunity to upgrade in the offseason so no trade seems likely. The most valuable trade trips are also players who are likely to contribute in 2015 as well so they have no player they most trade or get nothing as was the case with Deng. But there are other teams really desperate to make a trade. Here are some rich offers, even one-sided offers, but offers that aren’t unimaginably crazy. Which ones would you accept?
Sacramento badly needs a culture change. Cousins could be a top 5 player in the right environment so adding another quality defense/effort/locker room to play next to him makes sense. McLemore is contributing nothing. He might be a bust. Sacramento doesn’t really need more young players so they might consider overpaying for Gibson.
Charlotte has playoff mandate. Al Jefferson is crushing teams, but Bobcats aren’t get anything from their other front court players and a defensive minded player like Taj would mask some of Jefferson’s deficiencies. Kidd-Gilchrist still can’t shoot and until that happens his ceiling is Tony Allen; valuable, but not untradeable.
Both of these trades would really hurt the current team and next year as well (unless Mirotic comes over and he's a better power forward than Taj), but they would add a lot of young talent to the team. Would you pull the trigger?
