Last year I had no problem with DRose sitting out the whole season. I figured if he wasn't back by the all-star break or beginning of March there would be no reason for him to come back. I definitely saw no point in him coming back during the playoffs.
This year is different and the biggest reason he needs to come back is what he said about a month ago about how excited he was to play for Team USA this summer. I'm a huge Derrick Rose fan and that was the first time I was mad and disappointed with him.
He needs to worry about the team that is paying him 20 million a year. The team that he has only played around 50-60 games for in the past 3 seasons. The perfect date for him to return is March 31st with 9 games left in the season. The last 9 games are extremely winnable even without Rose (Celtics, Hawks, Bucks, Wizards, Timberwolves, Pistons, Knicks, Magic, and Bobcats). We will only need 15-20 minutes a game from him. If we get a 3-6 seed, which looks pretty obtainable, the first round will be a pretty easy round to get out of with him only playing 20-30 minutes. Figuring that series goes 6 games, Rose will have 15 games to get game ready and game speed for a pretty vulnerable looking Heat team in the second round.
We probably won't win a title regardless of if Rose comes back or not but this Bulls fan would rather see him on the court than in his 20 million dollar suits.
