Tonight the Bulls are traveling to face the Bobcats. Both teams are playing on back to back nights and both are coming off loses. The Bulls were outclassed although competitive against the Griffin- led Clippers, who are just on a totally different level offensively. The Bobcats are coming off an even more devasting beating coming from the Knicks, where Melo dropped 62 points (career and M.S.G highs.) Both teams would love to get that sour taste out of their mouth and will be looking forward to this game to get back on track. The Bulls are 2-0 against the Bobcats this season and won their last meeting 103-97. We have won 9 out of the last 10 games against them. The Bulls come into the game at 500 with a 21-21 record while the Bobcats come in 19- 26. The Bobcats are currently missing their Star player in Kemba Walker, who tends to go off against us every game. Filing in his place at PG is a capable Ramon Sessions, who reminds me a lot of DJ Augustin in his own right. He floated around the league and has put up impressive games in the past. He can start for half the league and is a nice playmaker to come off the bench. The Bobcats also have a nice SG in Gerald Henderson, who is blooming and improving every season and gives Bulls wings issues every matchup. They have a force in the middle at C in Al Jefferson, who is coming into a zone as of late and is a 20-10 player most night. With Kemba Walker out, they are going to have to step up collectively to replace the impact and points that he can put up. The Bobcats bread and butter are their vastly improved Defense. The cats have jumped up to 6th in the league in total points allowed and will make it a bump & grind type of game which will fall into the Bulls specialty. The Bulls are coming off a game where they simply couldn’t keep up with the Clippers firepower or get key stops when needed. The Bulls were fighting from behind the entire night and were able to pull off multiple runs to almost get within striking range but couldn’t execute when they needed. The Bobcats, however are almost the perfect rebound team for the Bulls to avenge with. The Bulls will have a lineup of DJ Augustin, who has been thrust into starting minutes which for Thibs equates to about 40 minutes a game, so let’s hope he can withstand that in a grind it out type of game. Dunleavy at SG, have been playing and shooting the ball well as of late. Jimmy, however has been in a slump as of late. He has been battling his injuries while playing 40 minutes a game and sticking the best wing, which is the best explanation as to why his O has been suffering as of late. Boozer is back at PF and we will have Noah (should be 2x All star in a few days) at C. The Bulls are currently in a battle for the 3rd- 5th seeds in the East, while the Bobcats are in the 8th spot. This game actually is somewhat important for seeding wise in the East and for the Bulls future. As we all know the Bulls are holding on to the Bobcats conditional 1st round pick, which actually can be in play for this year if they make the playoffs. I’m naturally rooting for the W, but I would love a competitive game just to keep the Bobcats honest. After that beating they took at the hands of Melo last night, another beating could sink them back into lottery mode possibly. This should be a good game to get back on track . Game starts at 6. Be on the lookout for a Jannero Pargo sighting.
