Are the Chicago Bulls looking to make a big move this offseason? It would seem so. As surprising as it was to hear that the Bulls made a hard and thankfully unsuccessful push for Monta Ellis it makes me wonder. I cant help but think these Lamarcus Aldridge rumors have some legs to it for a couple of reason. My first reason is because like many bulls fans Gar and Pax know that we are in need of another star. I'd go as far as to say we need another star so we can quickly eliminate any idea that rose would like to play elsewhere any time in the near future. Many fans can and will argue that we just need another scorer, I personally do not think another average scorer is going to get us past the Miami Heat even if Dwayne Wade is playing on one knee and Chris Bosh is no longer showing that he is the dominant force he was in Toronto (They are both still top 15 players in the NBA). Its going to be extremely difficult to get past the Pacers with the return of Granger and a revamped bench and who knows what the Knicks and Nets can do with their revamped and star-studded rosters. Due to the fact that so many other teams especially in the east are stacking up the bulls would be foolish to not do the same. Putting Aldridge on a team with a healthy Rose and Noah would be borderline unstoppable. The second reason i feel that these rumors have some legs to it is because if the rumors that LMA's agent/ agency are pushing for a trade to Chicago are real then we can safely assume that this is LMA doing his best to protect his image but secretly trying to demand a trade. My last reason is because i am optimistic and truly believe that we have assets that can entice Portland to complete a deal. I feel that a package that consists of Boozer, rights to Mirotic, our 2014 first round pick (we reportedly have two) our 2016 Charlotte Bobcats pick and hopefully wouldnt have too but I'd even throw Jimmy Butler in that package. If that's not a good enough package to at least have Portland consider it then I honestly would be shocked. Like many other Bulls fans I am against giving up Noah and although I am high on Jimmy Buckets i would rather have Lamarcus Aldridge. I hope these rumors are true and eventually a deal gets done because that would make the bulls an even more elite team. However, if it doesn't happen(likely) I will be looking forward to a healthy season.
