The Bulls have the 20th and 49th pick in the draft.
#20 -- C Gorgui Dieng. The mobile, defensive minded C that the team needs to backup Noah.
#49 -- SG Michael Snaer. It seems like he's disappeared from the Mock Draft radar, but I like the kid. He may need some development on his offense, but he has a nice j and decent handles already. The thing that makes him the pick here is the one asset that he has that is already NBA worthy, his defense. If you remember Jimmy Buckets didn't get much time his rookie season, but the time he did get was earned through playing tough D. Snaer is very similar, just a lil smaller.
2. Free Agency
Only having the MMLE, will leave us without the services of Nate and Belli. I doubt Korver is coming back for $3 mil, and even a guy like Dunleavy Jr. is probably beyond our means. Looking at the potential FA's, 2 names stood out for me as potential MMLE signings. Chase Budinger, a shooter that can play respectable D, probably a little better than Belli or Korver on that side. Dorrell Wright, another shooter with the potential to be a very good defender when motivated. If I had my choice, I'd go with Wright, and sign him for 3 years with the last year non-guaranteed.
Now, we have to fill out our roster with Vet minimums. I will bring back Nazr, to serve in the Kurt Thomas role and help mentor young Dieng. I still need another back up swingman. This name might surprise many, but I would see if Corey Maggette would take the Vet min to play for a contender. He has already made his money in the league, has never really played on a championship contender, he's a Chicago kid, and I know he doesn't want to end his career going out the way he did with the Pistons.
This would leave the 2013-2014 Chicago Bulls looking like this:
PG DRose Hinrich Teague
SG Butler Maggette Snaer
SF Deng Wright
PF Boozer Taj Thomas
C Noah Dieng Nazr
What do you guys think?
