CHICAGO—Chicago Bulls shooting guard, Richard "RIP" Hamilton, has been classified as missing by the Chicago Police Department. He was last seen in game one of his team’s opening playoff series against the Brooklyn Nets. Police conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area around the United Center, but only found a homeless man who was later identified as former Bull, Chris Richards.
Hamilton was averaging 9.8 points and 2.4 assists per game this season in Chicago. Limited by injuries, he played in only 50 games.
There have been various eyewitness reports of seeing Hamilton during the Bulls’ loss to the Nets on May 2nd, but officials disregarded it as they believed it was MF Doom in attendance. When asked for comment, members of the Bulls gave varying responses:
"Rip? Didn’t we trade him for a second round pick?" Bulls’ point guard Kurt Hinrich replied. When reached for comment, Bulls’ coach Tom Thibodeau would only answer that "we still have more than enough to win with."
