This from an article on YahooSports up right now on Anthony Davis and how he needs to bulk up. Monty Williams specifically mentions a game against the Bulls in which Boozer beat the kid up the whole game:
One game in particular that concerned Williams was when Chicago Bulls forward Carlos Boozer physically punished Davis during a 96-87 win over the Hornets on Feb. 19. Davis finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, but said "he learned a lot" that night from the battering he received.
Despite his obvious potential for playing like a bruiser, I feel Boozer is largely a finesse player, and that's always been kind of a disappointment to me. I realize that to grab boards like he does one would need to engage in a good deal of banging, so maybe it's just on the offensive end that he seems soft. Or is it that he only gets aggressive with toothpicks like Davis?
Anyway, none of this comes as a revelation to the folks on this site, but I wanted to share because the specific naming of Boozer in this context surprised me.
Also from Williams, for those who don't feel like reading the entire piece:
"Boozer made a point of trying to hurt him, basically," Williams said. "He just tried to smash him every play. I thought, 'This could be ugly for him if he doesn't get stronger.'
