Can/Will the Bulls keep Nate next year? (and other offseason speculation)

I'm commandeering a fanpost from last week since we kind of started talking about it then.

And I'm not that comfortable talking about the summer already...because I think Nate is gone.

Bulls do not have Bird rights to re-sign Nate, even though he's better than Larry Bird. Doesn't seem fair. Lets hope the Bulls don’t use the full MLE and hard-cap themselves again. They can’t use the BAE because they used it on Belli last year. So for free agents that’s Mini-MLE for (likely) one player. Are you really spending it on Nate?

Blood’s already in the water, the dude is famous now. That game 4, the puking afterwards, and beating freaking Miami has gotten this guy a contract.

He’s at least getting a 2-year deal. John Lucas got 2 years, which screws the 2014 plan. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if some team offers him a 3 year deal. JJ Barea received 4/$18m because of what HE did against Miami.

The Bulls could only match something in that neighborhood if they hard-cap themselves. There’s already 3 PGs on the roster. Even if they cleared one or two of them, there’s still the problem of only being able to use that one cap exception, with the rest going to minimum guys.

[note: this is also about the draft and any crazy trade scenarios you've thought of]
