Bulls Cheapness Alert!

I'm amping up my interest in the draft now and I happened to remember this fanshot, which eventually led to this happening. So Matt Lloyd, erstwhile Director of College Scouting for the Chicago Bulls, has moved on to bigger and better things. Nice. So let's meet his replacement:

That's right: Nobody. Nobody is in charge of College Scouing, Polyphemus.

If this is true, it seems like a bad idea. The draft is important and it should be someone's job within the organization to get it right.

I might be wrong about this, and if I am I certainly will concede the point. But I look at this staff roster pulled off the Bulls' website:

Basketball Operations

General Manager – Gar Forman
Head Coach – Tom Thibodeau
Assistant Coaches – Ron Adams, Andy Greer, Adrian Griffin, Ed Pinckney, Mike Wilhelm
Special Assistant to General Manager – Randy Brown
Assistant General Manager – Brian Hagen
Director of International Scouting – Ivica Dukan
Director of Pro Personnel – Jay Hillock
Director of Basketball Operations – Jim Paxson
Scout – Dave Bollwinkel
Video Coordinator – Daisuke Yoshimoto
Assistant Video Coordinator – Jim Topor
Head Athletic Trainer – Fred Tedeschi
Assistant Athletic Trainer – Jeff Tanaka
Strength and Conditioning Coach – Erik Helland
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach – Nick Papendieck
Equipment Manager – John Ligmanowski
Director of Basketball Administration – Karen Stack Umlauf
Director of Team Security – Eric Buck
Senior Managers, Basketball Administration – Wendy Knoll, Kristine Watson
Basketball Operations Assistant – Steve Weinman
Team Locker Room Security – John Capps

And I don't see a Director of College Scouting. I see a bunch of guys who were there last year. I see this guy Dave Bollwinkel, who as near as I can tell scouts other NBA teams. But I don't see a guy whose job it is to nail the draft. Unless they are now restricting themselves to Euro guys.
