Couldn't even get a good pic of him in a Bulls uniform - Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports
The Bulls offered Lou Amundson a second 10-day contract, but he will reportedly sign with the New Orleans Hornets.
With injuries piling up in the frontcourt, the Bulls signed Lou Amundson to a 10-day contract as a bit of a safety valve. Amundson has seen very little playing time in Chicago, appearing in just one game and playing two minutes. Because of this, Amundson is set to leave the Bulls once his contract is up and sign with the New Orleans Hornets, according to Chris Tomasson of Fox Sports Florida:
"Chicago was prepared to sign me to another 10-day, but I felt I should go somewhere where I can get a better opportunity to play,'' Amundson wrote FOX Sports Florida in a text message.
I really can't blame Amundson here, as he probably should see more time in New Orleans. Tom Thibodeau decided to go with more Nazr Mohammed the last week or so with Taj Gibson out, and while Mohammed has looked a little better, he still has plenty of limitations. It's a shame we didn't get at least a little more of a chance to see what Amundson could do.
Lou, we hardly knew ye.
