So after speaking with a few of my friends about the CBA, Cap, and Tax for about an hour the other night, I really thought about it and realized that the Bulls may not be as stupid/in a bad situation as we thought they were. Key points below...
A) Offseason moves were not quite as bad as we initially thought, big loss was Omer, other than that may be a wash with Butler's improvement
B) One thing we are understating is how much repeat offender syndrome is going to destroy LAL, MIA, NYK and a few others in a couple years. By not going into the tax yet, we may be able to pay some tax while other teams are trying to shed (if you believe the 2014 plan).
C) I really don't think I would mind trading Rip for garbage and getting under the tax, per example B
This was a very small thought, but more so came about by realizing that we on the threads tend to ALWAYS think that anything other than a blockbuster trade getting us K Love should be a fail by GarPax. I want to take a minute to respect the fact that we have built a solid team the right way (and gotten lucky in hitting the lottery), and have one of the best team-oriented basketball products that you will see in the NBA.
