Bulls clinch Eastern Conference with Heat loss to Celtics

Stay connected for news and updates

The Bulls went into Tuesday two games ahead of the Heat for the Eastern Conference top seed. Heat lost. Bulls won without playing.

What did they win? Well, they just won the top seed in the Eastern Conference. That may mean little with the injuries on their platter, but gives them a much better chance at the Eastern Conference Finals. (The top five seeds in the East are now set. Let's be honest: Facing Boston in the second round is more favorable than facing the Pacers.)

Tuesday, the Heat rested LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh against the Celtics and lost 78-66.

Yes, that score is correct. Boston also didn't play Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, nor Ray Allen.

Bulls should be prudent with Derrick Rose and Luol Deng. Hell, just rest 'em.
