Last time the Bulls were in Atlanta they were blown out. Last game the Bulls played they were blown out. So I'm expecting the Bulls to be doubly amped up for this game tonight ... will they keep the "no back-to-back losses this season" streak alive?
Yes, I would bet on it; Hawks are coming off a hard-fought loss to the Bucks last night and had that crazy 4OT game on Sunday. The oldest team in the NBA is probably a bit tired. Bulls have usually played well after a loss this season. But anything can happen in the NBA.
J-Smoove is putting up monster fantasy numbers and Joe Johnson has been playing better at the 3. Captain Kirk has been starting the last couple of weeks - Marvin was relegated to the bench, but is still playing around the same amount of minutes. And undrafted Ivan Johnson has found a spot as an energy guy / badass off the bench: 7-7 from the field last game.
Key for Bulls I think is our bigs need to dominate. With Zaza iffy (expecting him to play though, they don't want to play Dampier or Jason Collins) and Al Horford out of course, Noah has to have a bounce back game and help control the boards. Keep the crowd out of it by preventing highlight-reel dunks in the highlight factory. And like always, encourage Josh to shoot long jumpers and Joe to take bad shots.
I originally did not plan to attend this game, but how can you pass up $40 lower bowl tickets? Mild firesale I guess with DRose out .. maybe I'll see more than the usual 30% or so who are Bulls fans at Phillips Arena everytime the Bulls come here to play!
