his story is sort of playing out a bit like tim leglers
although legler was always just a shooting specialist, and lin is showing to be a pretty (offensively at least) well rounded player. But legler came out of an ivy league school and graduated as well, and his agent told him that he would be more successful not pursing pro-ball and getting a regular 9-5 job. Thats kinda what i like about lin, the dude could be successful with less effort in the real world, but he really wants to be an nba baller despite not having the elite athleticism, but hes worked hard and now hes making a ton of noise. Its just a great story for lin

i only know this stuff because he was on the nbatoday podcast last week, he could have gone to princeton, and they wanted him there, but he didnt like the system princeton ran so he ended up going to lasalle (in the podcast he didnt explain why) and then later on he got his masters from penn.
