Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

Around the NBA Thread 2/5; I Don't Care About The Super Bowl.

Tom Brady can bite me. The Giants are annoying. Screw the NFL! Sure, there are only two basketball games today; one currently going where Rajon Rondo already had 3 turnovers and an ugly face, and the other where NBA fans get to see Jose Calderon try and contain Mario Chalmers and Norris 'This year's Landry Fields/Nico Batum Golden Child' Cole. Honestly, when I'm not watching Bulls' basketball I watch the NBA in order to see the other top players put up bad statistics so that our Derrick Rose can keep moving up in the statistical rankings. So talk it up! I'm sure half of you clowns are drunk anyway. Meanwhile I'm typing on my laptop at almost 2am because my wife is still in her hometown and I am trying to re-adjust to sleeping alone again. It sucks. Someone make me some dumplings, damnit!

I'm still putting up numbers thanks to my old man game!

Sincerely,

Paul Pierce.

P.S.: My team’s defensive efficiency numbers mask the fact that I can barely move fast enough to stay in front of Michael Sweetney.

I know I say this kind of thing a lot...

but Ray Allen is a frickin’ robot. He’s averaging 15 ppg on only 10 shots and is shooting over 56% from 3. 56% is ridiculous. He needs to quit cheating. He and Steve Nash need to stop it already.

And now Rondo has 10 assists.

And ESPN proceeds to wet themselves.

I just watched an incredible EPL match.

but the super bowl is the one day, for me, where football comes first. Go Giants!

I still hold bitterness towards and NFL season

where our best offensive players went down one by one when I was sure they were going to storm into the playoffs on fire.

I’m trying to pretend the season didn’t happen and Cutler’s thumb never got injured.

Dr. handsome (pretty weird typing that) is totally right

I love football and all, but the super bowl is almost as difficult to watch as the nba all-star game.

When Aaron Gray is your starting Center against the Heat

you may as well forfeit the game.,

Remember when Jose Calderon made 151 of 154 free throw attempts

in the 2008/09 season? That was crazy.

Raptors showing some early heart.

So naturally, Miami will outscore them 36-8 in the 3rd quarter in one of those insane runs they tend to go on.

I'm a little late to the party...

but any thoughts on the Kevin Love face stomp? He’s got to get at least as many games as Bynum did for his Barea knockdown right?

by CubFan81 on Feb 5, 2012 1:01 PM CST reply actions

I'm sure Stern would just have Scola stomp on Love's face

but that hideous Grizzly Adams beard is an impenetrable fortress.

Hard to tell

Rather than Love deliberately seeking to humiliate Scola, this looks more in the moment, like “I’m not moving out of the way just because you flopped, Floppy McFlopperton!”

He should still get suspended, but I don’t think he’ll get as big of a penalty as Bynum.

bynums foul was just plain dirty and uncalled for

loves face stomp is not even close to what bynum did to barera.

by Geo4MVP on Feb 5, 2012 4:48 PM CST up reply actions   1 recs

i have a few thoughts on this

1) he really stepped on his chest – perhaps he grazed his face, but the brunt of the impact was def scola’s chest, not face.

2) scola not only flopped on this play but also on the play before it. if you don’t want to get stepped on, stay standing. i’m obviously not condoning stepping on someone, and i won’t say he deserved it for flopping – but still, this is certainly one reason that

3) love’s foot also got kinda hung up in scola’s arms, so he may not have been able to get over him w/out falling. but i def don’t rule it out being intentional, either.

it’s a far less dirty play than bynum, esp since that was the third time bynum had done something very similar to another player. and this one was the worst because of how small barea is. but taking a guy out of the air is way more dangerous than what love did.

Look
I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying the "f" word or generalizing my statement to any particular sex by saying "gays" or lesbians" or "bi’s" so "homos" is the most "politically correct" term. I’m just trying to be more tact in a tactless blog.

Miami still can't play in the half court

They’re tough shot or bust

Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!

by Dils on Feb 5, 2012 2:18 PM CST reply actions

they really are a stiff team in half court offense

not very creative at all, its all iso iso iso with either wade or lebron. I think thibs will def exploit that more in the playoffs…

by Geo4MVP on Feb 5, 2012 2:22 PM CST up reply actions

difference is when wade is out he scores like the beast he is

when deng is out booz still puts up his awesome single digit statline

Damn am I good or what? I told you guys New York would win a title this year!!

Fuck the super bowl

Anyone want to turn this into a game thread on an old game? I think I’m going to watch some of the Atlanta series today.

by metalkiwis on Feb 5, 2012 5:10 PM CST reply actions

yeah, the SB for me is an overrated event

if it doesnt involve the bears, or if it esp invovles the damn pats and a fuckin NY team, then it doesnt concern me, lol.
